First Reading: Jonah 3: 1-5, 10

1 And the word of the Lord came to Jonas the second time, saying:

2 Arise, and go to Ninive the great city: and preach in it the preaching that I bid thee.

3 And Jonas arose, and went to Ninive, according to the word of the Lord: now Ninive was a great city of three days’ journey.

4 And Jonas began to enter into the city one day’s journey: and he cried, and said: Yet forty days, and Ninive shall be destroyed.

5 And the men of Ninive believed in God: and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least.

10 And God saw their works, that they were turned from their evil way: and God had mercy with regard to the evil which he had said that he would do to them, and he did it not.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 25: 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 (4a)

4 Let all them be confounded that act unjust things without cause. shew, O Lord, thy ways to me, and teach me thy paths.

31 And they that use this world, as if they used it not: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

Gospel: Mark 1: 14-20

14 And after that John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

15 And saying: The time is accomplished, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.

16 And passing by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother, casting nets into the sea (for they were fishermen).

17 And Jesus said to them: Come after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18 And immediately leaving their nets, they followed him.

19 And going on from thence a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were mending their nets in the ship:

वर्ष का तीसरा सामान्य रविवार

पहला पाठ: योना का ग्रन्थ 3:1-5,10

1) प्रभु के वाणी योना को दूसरी बार यह कहते हुए सुनाई पडी,

2) ’’उठो! महानगर निनीवे जा कर वहाँ के लोगों को उपदेश दो, जैसा कि मैंने तुम्हें बताया है’’।

3) इस पर योना उठ खडा हुआ और प्रभु के आज्ञानुसार निनीवे चला गया। निनीवे एक बहुत बड़ा शहर था। उसे पार करने में तीन दिन लगते थे।

4) योना ने उस में प्रवेश किया और एक दिन की यात्रा पूरी करने के बाद वह इस प्रकार उपदेश देने, लगा ’’चालीस दिन के बाद निनीवे का विनाश किया जायेगा’’।

5) निनीवे के लोगों ने ईश्वर की बात पर विश्वास किया। उन्होंने उपवास की घोषणा की और बडों से लेकर छोटों तक सबों ने टाट ओढ लिया।

10) ईश्वर ने देखा कि वे क्या कर रहे हैं और किस प्रकार उन्होंने कुमार्ग छोड दिया है, तो वह द्रवित हो गया और उसने जिस विपत्ति की धमकी दी थी, उसे उन पर नहीं आने दिया।

दूसरा पाठ : कुरिन्थियों के नाम सन्त पौलुस का पहला पत्र 7:29-31

29) भाइयो! मैं आप लोगों से यह कहता हूँ - समय थोड़ा ही रह गया है। अब से जो विवाहित हैं, वे इस तरह रहे मानो विवाहित नहीं हों;

30) जो रोते है, मानो रोते नहीं हो; जो आनन्द मनाते हैं, मानो आनन्द नहीं मनाते हों; जो खरीद लेते हैं, मानो उनके पास कुछ नहीं हो;

31) जो इस दुनिया की चीज़ों का उपभोग करते है, मानो उनका उपभोग नहीं करते हों; क्योंकि जो दुनिया हम देखते हैं, वह समाप्त हो जाती है।

सुसमाचार : सन्त मारकुस 1:14-20

14) योहन के गिरफ़्तार हो जाने के बाद ईसा गलीलिया आये और यह कहते हुए ईश्वर के सुसमाचार का प्रचार करते रहे,

15) ’’समय पूरा हो चुका है। ईश्वर का राज्य निकट आ गया है। पश्चाताप करो और सुसमाचार में विश्वास करो।’’

16) गलीलिया के समुद्र के किनारे से हो कर जाते हुए ईसा ने सिमोन और उसके भाई अन्द्रेयस को देखा। वे समुद्र में जाल डाले रहे थे, क्योंकि वे मछुए थे।

17) ईसा ने उन से कहा, ’’मेरे पीछे चले आओ। मैं तुम्हें मनुष्यों के मछुए बनाऊँगा।’’

18) और वे तुरन्त अपने जाल छोड़ कर उनके पीछे हो लिये।

19) कुछ आगे बढ़ने पर ईसा ने जेबेदी के पुत्र याकूब और उसके भाई योहन को देखा। वे भी नाव में अपने जाल मरम्मत कर रहे थे।

20) ईसा ने उन्हें उसी समय बुलाया। वे अपने पिता ज़ेबेदी को मज़दूरों के साथ नाव में छोड़ कर उनके पीछे हो लिये।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज सामान्य काल का तीसरा रविवार है और इसे ईश वचन रविवार के रूप में मनाया जाता है। आज के पाठ हमें बताते हैं कि ईश वचन किस तरह हमारे जीवन में प्रभावशाली है तथा और किस तरह ईश्वर धैर्यपूर्वक हमारे मन परिवर्तन का इंतज़ार करता है। सब लोग एक अटल सत्य से भली-भाँति परिचित हैं, और वह अटल सत्य है कि एक न एक दिन मृत्यु से हमारा सामना होना है, लेकिन कब होना है, ये हमें नहीं मालूम। किसी की मौत कब होगी, अब, कल, अगले महीने या दस साल बाद, किसी को नहीं पता। चूँकि हमें अपना अंत समय नहीं मालूम है, या हमें निश्चित समय ज्ञात नहीं है, इसलिए हम इसके लिए तैयारी भी नहीं करते। हम ईश्वर से मुलाक़ात के लिए तैयारी नहीं करते। अंत समय तक हम सिर्फ़ तैयारी करने का ही इंतज़ार करते हैं।

पहले पाठ में हम देखते हैं कि लोग अपने पापमय जीवन में व्यस्त थे, लेकिन जब नबी योनस ने चेतावनी दी कि चालीस दिन बाद सब कुछ नष्ट हो जाएगा क्योंकि ईश्वर उनके शहर निनेवे को नष्ट करने वाले थे, तो सभी लोग भयभीत हो जाते हैं, और पश्चाताप और उपवास करने लग जाते हैं। सब के सब पश्चाताप करने लगते हैं, बच्चों से लेकर बड़ों तक। उनका टाट ओड़ना और उपवास करना यह दर्शाता था कि वे अपनी ग़लतियों और पापों के लिए दुखी थे और ग़लत रास्ता छोड़कर ईश्वर के बताए रास्ते पर चलना चाहते थे। ईश्वर उनके पश्चाताप को देखकर उन्हें नष्ट करने का विचार त्याग देता है। नवी योनस की चेतावनी से पहले उन्होंने ग़लत रास्ता क्यों नहीं छोड़ा? जब उन्हें उनका अंत दिखाई दिया तभी क्यों वे कुमार्ग छोड़ना चाहते थे? वे यह जानकर भयभीत हो गए कि अब उनका अन्त आ गया है, अब उन्हें ईश्वर का सामना करना पड़ेगा। हमारा मानव स्वभाव अंत तक टालते रहने का स्वभाव है, हम आख़िर में ही कुछ करते हैं।

आज प्रभु येसु हम में से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति से कहते हैं, ‘समय पूरा हो चुका है, पश्चाताप करो और सुसमाचार में विश्वास करो।’ ईश्वर के पास लौटने का सही समय आज और अभी है। क्या हम येसु मसीह का सामना करने के लिए तैयार हैं? हम अपने हृदय में झाँकें - क्या मैं ईश्वर के रास्ते पर हूँ? क्या मेरे जीवन में कुछ सुधार होना बाक़ी है? ये शब्द हमारे हृदय में गूंजते रहने चाहिए, ‘समय पूरा हो चुका है, पश्चाताप करो और ईश्वर के पास लौट आओ।’ आमेन।

📚 REFLECTION

Today is the third Sunday in ordinary time and it is celebrated as the ‘Word of God Sunday.’ The readings today tell us how the Word of God is effective in our lives and how God waits patiently for us to change. Everybody is aware of one eternal truth, and that truth is ‘that one day we all have to face our death.’ But we do not know the time of it. When will the death come, no one knows, now, tomorrow, next month or after 10 years? Since we do not know, and we have no “deadline” of our life here on earth, so we do not prepare to face it. We do not prepare to meet God. We continue in the preparation time till we die.

In the first reading we see, people were busy in their sinful life, but when Jonah announced that after 40 days, it all will end, because God was going to destroy their city Nineveh, they got panicked, and started to fast and repent. They all repented, even small children to old-age people, all fasted and repented. They even made the animals to fast. Their fasting and sack clothes were the indication that they were sorry for their wrongdoings, now they wanted to leave their old ways and change their lives according to God’s will. God, seeing their sincere repentance gave up the idea of destroying them. Why didn't they mend their ways before the warning of Jonah? Why did they act only when a deadline was given to them? They panicked only when they saw that their time is over, they will meet their end. Our nature is to wait for the deadline, to wait for the given time to be over and then only we start to act.

Today Jesus tells each and everyone of us, ‘the time is over, repent and believe in the gospel.’ Today and now is the right time to return to God. Are we prepared to meet Jesus? Let us look into our hearts and lives - is my life straight? Is there anything that I need to set right? Let these words ring into our ears "the time is over, repent and return to God.” Amen.

मनन-चिंतन - 2

आज के पाठों में हम देखते हैं कि ईश्वर मनुष्य को अपने ही जीवन के सहभागी बनाते हैं। परन्तु पाप कर मनुष्य ईश्वर से दूर चला जाता है। फिर भी ईश्वर उसे उनके पास लौटने का मौका प्रदान करते हैं।

पापी मनुष्य को पश्चात्ताप के लिए प्रेरित करने हेतु प्रभु ईश्वर कुछ सहयोगियों को चुनते हैं। आज का पहले पाठ हमें बताता है कि ईश्वर ने निनीवे के लोगों को पश्चात्ताप का सन्देश सुनाने के लिए नबी योना को चुनते हैं। योना शुरू में तो इस बुलाहट को अस्वीकार करते हैं। वे निनीवे के बदले तरशीश जाने का मन बनाता है। परन्तु रास्ते में उसे बहुत-सी कठिनाईयों तथा बाधाओं का सामना करना पडता है।

“ईश्वर न तो अपने वरदान वापस लेता और न अपना बुलावा रद्द करता है” (रोमियों 11:29)। ईश्वर उनका पीछा नहीं छोडते हैं। ईश्वर द्वारा दूसरी बार बुलाये जाने पर योना ईश्वर का वचन सुनाने के अपने कार्य को ठीक से करते हैं। इस के फलस्वरूप निनीवे के राजा और नागरिक पश्चात्ताप करते हैं। इस पर ईश्वर द्रवित हो कर महानगर निनीवे को विपत्तियों से बचाते हैं।

सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु स्वयं पश्चात्ताप का सन्देश सुनाते हैं। इसी कार्य में शामिल होने के लिए वे कुछ साधारण लोगों को चुनते और बुलाते हैं। वे सिमोन और उसके भाई अन्द्रेयस को बुलाते हैं, और याकूब और उसके भाई योहन को भी। प्रभु ने उन से कहा, “मेरे पीछे चले आओ। मैं तुम्हें मनुष्यों के मछुए बनाऊँगा” (मारकुस 1:17)।

किसी भी कार्य को ठीक से कारने के लिए हमें उस कार्य का ज्ञान और अनुभव प्राप्त करना चाहिए, उस कार्य के विभिन्न तरीके समझना चाहिए तथा उस के लिए सक्षम बनना चाहिए। ये मछुए मछली पकडने के लिए सक्षम थे। प्रभु येसु चाहते हैं कि वे इस क्षमता और अनुभव को एक आध्यात्मिक कार्य के लिए इस्तेमाल करें। वे मछली के मछुए थे। अब उन्हें मनुष्यों के मछुए बनना चाहिए।

प्रभु चाहते हैं कि प्रेरित अपने प्रेरिताई कार्य में अपनी क्षमताओं तथा प्रतिभाओं का उपयोग करें। इन चुने हुए लोगों को प्रभु येसु ने अपने ही समान सुसमाचार सुनाने का कार्य सौंप दिया। जो भी लोग सुसमाचार को सुन कर उसे ग्रहण करते हैं, उनके हृदय में पश्चात्ताप उत्पन्न होता है और वे ईश्वर के पास लौट जाते हैं। ईश्वर हमारे साथ रहना चाहते हैं। प्रभु येसु का नाम ही एम्मानुएल है (मत्ती 1:23) जिसका अर्थ है “ईश्वर हमारे साथ है”।

प्रभु ईश्वर चाहते हैं हम हमेशा उनके साथ रहें क्योंकि उसी में हमारा कल्याण है। मनुष्य पाप कर ईश्वर के साथ रहने से इनकार करता है। जब वह पश्चात्ताप करता है, तब वह ईश्वर के साथ रहने लगते हैं। हमें पापों से बचाने के लिए ही प्रभु येसु इस दुनिया में आये। उन्होंने हमें पापों से बचाने के लिए ही दुखभोग और क्रूस-मरण को स्वीकार किया। प्रभु येसु द्वारा प्राप्त मुक्ति को अपनाने के लिए हमें अपने पापों को छोड कर पश्चात्ताप कर येसु के पास पुन: लौटना चाहिए। “प्रज्ञा उस आत्मा में प्रवेश नहीं करती, जो बुराई की बातें सोचती है और उस शरीर में निवास नहीं करती, जो पाप के अधीन है; क्योंकि शिक्षा प्रदान करने वाला पवित्र आत्मा छल-कपट से घृणा करता है। वह मूर्खतापूर्ण विचारों को तुच्छ समझता और अन्याय से अलग रहता है।” (प्रज्ञा 1:4-5)

सुसमाचार हमारी मुक्ति का सन्देश है और इसलिए वह खुश खबरी है, आनन्द का समाचार है। हम अपने पापों के लिए पश्चात्ताप कर इस सुसमाचार को ग्रहण करें।

पहला पाठ : इब्रानियो 9:2-3, 11-14

2) एक तम्बू खड़ा कर दिया गया था। उसके अगले कक्ष में दीपाधार था, मेज़ थी और भेंट की रोटियाँ थीं। वह मन्दिर-गर्भ कहलाता था।

3) दूसरे परदे के पीछे का कक्ष परमपावन मन्दिर-गर्भ कहलाता था।

11) किन्तु अब मसीह हमारे भावी कल्याण के प्रधानयाजक के रूप में आये हैं और उन्होंने एक ऐसे तम्बू को पार किया, जो यहूदियों के तम्बू से महान् तथा श्रेष्ठ है, जो मनुष्य के हाथ से नहीं बना और इस पृथ्वी का नहीं है।

12) उन्होंने बकरों तथा बछड़ों का नहीं, बल्कि अपना रक्त ले कर सदा के लिए एक ही बार परमपावन स्थान में प्रवेश किया और इस तरह हमारे लिए सदा-सर्वदा रहने वाला उद्धार प्राप्त किया है।

13) याजक बकरों तथा सांड़ों का रक्त और कलोर की राख अशुद्ध लोगों पर छिड़कता है और उनका शरीर फिर शुद्ध हो जाता है। यदि उस में पवित्र करने की शक्ति है,

14) तो फिर मसीह का रक्त, जिसे उन्होंने शाश्वत आत्मा के द्वारा निर्दोष बलि के रूप में ईश्वर को अर्पित किया, हमारे अन्तःकरण को पापों से क्यों नहीं शुद्ध करेगा और हमें जीवन्त ईश्वर की सेवा के योग्य बनायेगा?

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 3:20-21

20) वे घर लौटे और फिर इतनी भीड़ एकत्र हो गयी कि उन लोगों को भोजन करने की भी फुरसत नहीं रही।

21) जब ईसा के सम्बन्धियों ने यह सुना, तो वे उन को बलपूर्वक ले जाने निकले; क्योंकि कहा जाता था कि उन्हें अपनी सुध-बुध नहीं रह गयी है।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

बहुत सारे लोग प्रभु येसु के पास आते थे। वे जहाँ भी जाते थे, भीड़ की भीड़ उनके पीछे चली आती थी। उनके लिए भोजन करना भी मुश्किल हो गया था और इसलिए उनके घरवाले सोचते हैं कि वह पागल हो गए हैं। ऐसा क्या है जिसके लिए वो पागल जैसे हो गये हैं? क्या प्रभु येसु पागल हो गये हैं या लोग पागल हो गए हैं? प्रभु येसु नहीं शायद लोग ही पागल हो गए हैं, क्योंकि वे ही उनके पीछे-पीछे चले आते हैं। लोग भोजन की चिंता भी नहीं करते, अपने साथ भोजन भी नहीं ले जाते, प्रभु येसु को ही उनके लिए भोजन की व्यवस्था करनी पड़ी। वे अपना घर-बार छोड़कर, अपने खेत-खलिहान छोड़कर, अपना काम-धंधा छोड़कर प्रभु येसु के वचनों को सुनने के लिए चले आते हैं।

वे अपनी बीमारियों से चंगाई पाने के लिए आते हैं। दर असल लोग पागल हो गए हैं जो बिना सोचे समझे सब कुछ छोड़कर प्रभु येसु के पास चले आते हैं। जब लोग अपना सब कुछ छोड़कर प्रभु की बातें सुनने के लिए बेचैन थे, तो प्रभु को कैसे चैन आता? जब लोग भोजन करना भी भूल जाते हैं तो वह कैसे शान्ति से भोजन कर लेते? जीवन दायी वचन सुनने की लोगों की प्यास ही थी, प्रभु के दर्शन करने की उनकी बेचैनी ही थी जो प्रभु को भी पागल कर देती है। हमारा ईश्वर कितना महान है जो हमारे प्रेम के लिए पागल होने को तैयार है!

📚 REFLECTION

Jesus had many people coming after him. Wherever he went large crowds followed him. It became difficult for him, even to eat peacefully and his relatives thought he is out of his mind. What makes him like the one out of his mind? Is he out of his mind or the people are out of their mind? Sometimes people seem to be out of mind because they followed him wherever he went. They forgot even to eat, they did not carry any food with them, so he had to feed them. They left their houses, their fields, and their jobs just to meet and listen to Jesus.

They came to be healed of their sicknesses. In fact they become out of their mind, not thinking anything else then to come behind Jesus. If people are not worried about anything else then following Jesus, listening to him and being in his company, then how could he relax? When people had forgotten about food then how could he eat peacefully? It was people’s thirst for his words of life, it was people’s restlessness that made him out of his mind. What a great God we have who is ready to go out of his mind for the love of people!

8 For finding fault with them, he saith: Behold, the days shall come, saith the Lord: and I will perfect unto the house of Israel, and unto the house of Juda, a new testament:

9 Not according to the testament which I made to their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt: because they continued not in my testament: and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind, and in their heart will I write them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

6) अब, जो धर्मसेवा मसीह को मिली है, वह कहीं अधिक ऊँची है; क्योंकि वे एक ऐसे विधान के मध्यस्थ हैं; जो श्रेष्ठतर है और श्रेष्ठतर प्रतिज्ञाओं पर आधारित हैं।

7) यदि पहला विधान परिपूर्ण होता, तो उसके स्थान पर दूसरे की क्या आवश्यकता थी?

8) ईश्वर उन लागों की निन्दा करते हुए कहता है- प्रभु यह कहता हैः वे दिन आ रहे हैं, जब मैं इस्राएल के घराने के लिए और यूदा के घराने के लिए एक नया विधान निर्धारित करूँगा।

9) यह उस विधान की तरह नहीं होगा, जिसे मैंने उनके पूर्वजों के लिए उस समय निर्धारित किया था, जब मैंने उन्हें मिस्र से निकालने के लिए उनके हाथ थामे थे।

10) प्रभु यह कहता है: उन्होंने मेरे विधान का पालन नहीं किया, इसलिए मैंने भी उनकी सुध नहीं ली। प्रभु यह कहता है: वह समय बीत जाने के बाद मैं इस्राएल के लिए यह विधान निर्धारित करूँगा - मैं अपने नियम उनके मन में रख दूँगा, मैं उनके हृदय पर अंकित करूँगा। मैं उनका ईश्वर होऊँगा और वे मेरी प्रजा होंगे।

11) इसकी ज़रूरत नहीं रहेगी कि वे एक दूसरे को शिक्षा दें और अपने भाइयों से कहें, ’प्रभु का ज्ञान प्राप्त कीजिए’; क्योंकि छोटे और बड़े, सब-के-सब मुझे जानेंगे।

12) मैं उनके अपराध क्षमा कर दूँगा और उनके पापों को याद भी नहीं रखूँगा।

13) ईश्वर इस विधान को ’नया’ कह कर पुकारता है, इसलिए उसने पहला विधान रद्द कर दिया है। जो पुराना और जराग्रस्त हो गया है, वह लुप्त होने को है।

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 3:13-19

13) ईसा पहाड़ी पर चढ़े। वे जिन को चाहते थे, उन को उन्होंने अपने पास बुला लिया। वे उनके पास आये

14 (14-15) और ईसा ने उन में से बारह को नियुक्त किया, जिससे वे लोग उनके साथ रहें और वह उन्हें अपदूतों को निकालने का अधिकार दे कर सुसमाचार का प्रचार करने भेज सकें।

16) ईसा ने इन बारहों को नियुक्त किया- सिमोन को, जिसका नाम उन्होंने पेत्रुस रखा;

17) ज़ेबेदी के पुत्र याकूब और उसके भाई योहन को, जिनका नाम उन्होंने बोआनेर्गेस अर्थात् गर्जन के पुत्र रखा;

18) अन्दे्रयस, फिलिप, बरथोलोमी, मत्ती, थोमस, अलफ़ाई के पुत्र याकूब, थद्देयुस और सिमोन को, जो उत्साही कहलाता है;

19) और यदूस इसकारियोती को, जिसने ईसा को पकड़वाया।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज हम इस पर मनन-चिंतन करते हैं कि किस तरह प्रभु येसु पर्वत पर जाते हैं और शिष्यों का चुनाव करते हैं ताकि वे उनके साथ रहें और उनके मिशन कार्य को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए दूर-दूर जाएँ। जब हम चुने हुए इन शिष्यों को देखते हैं तो पाते हैं कि प्रभु येसु के शिष्य बनने के लिए कोई विशेष योग्यता अथवा गुण की आवश्यकता नहीं थी। इसका मतलब यह है कि ईश्वर किसी ख़ास व्यक्ति को नहीं बुलाते। उनका बुलावा सभी तरह के लोगों के लिए है, चाहे आप किसी भी समाज, वर्ग, जाति आदि से हो, ईश्वर बिना किसी भेड़-भाव के सबको बुलाते हैं, क्योंकि वह अयोग्य व्यक्ति को चुनकर योग्य बनाते हैं।

ईश्वर सबको बुलाते हैं, लेकिन किसलिए? वह अपने शिष्यों को उनके साथ रहने और दुनिया के कोने-कोने में भेजे जाने के लिए बुलाते हैं। यही दो कारण हैं। जब हम उनके साथ रहते हैं तो उन्हें गहराई से जान जाते हैं, हमारे लिए उनकी योजना को हम समझ लेंगे, इस दुनिया में आने के हमारे मक़सद को हम समझ पाएँगे। जब हम ईश्वर के अनुग्रह और प्रेम से भर जाते हैं तो उसे हमें दूसरों के साथ भी बाँटना है। ईश्वर के द्वारा बुलाया जाना और फिर भेजा जाना एक दूसरे के अभिन्न अंग हैं। क्या मैं प्रभु येसु के बुलावे को स्वीकार करने के लिए तैयार हूँ?

📚 REFLECTION

In today's gospel we see Jesus going on the mountain and calling and choosing those whom he wanted, to be with him and to be sent out to continue his mission. When we see and reflect on the names of these chosen ones, we find that perhaps there was no fixed criteria for Jesus, as to whom he should choose, or who is eligible and worthy to be his disciple. It shows that there is no fixed category of people that God calls. His invitation is open for all, whether you belong to any category, any caste, race, creed, society, you are suitable to be called by him, because he doesn't see any qualification, but grants qualification after calling.

All are given an invitation by God, and chosen, but for what? He calls his disciples to be with him and to be sent out to the world. These are the only two reasons – he calls us so that we can be with him, and we can be sent out. When we are with Jesus, we will know him deeply, we will understand his plan for us, we will understand the real purpose of our coming into this world. Once we are filled with his love and grace, we are called to share the same with others. Being called and then being sent out are complimentary to each other. Do I accept the invitation of Jesus?

27 Who needeth not daily (as the other priests) to offer sacrifices first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, in offering himself.

28 For the law maketh men priests, who have infirmity: but the word of the oath, which was since the law, the Son who is perfected for evermore.

8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens,

2 A minister of the holies, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord hath pitched, and not man.

3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that he also should have some thing to offer.
