First Reading: First John 4:11-18

11 My dearest, if God hath so loved us; we also ought to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and his charity is perfected in us.

13 In this we know that we abide in him, and he in us: because he hath given us of his spirit.

14 And we have seen, and do testify, that the Father hath sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known, and have believed the charity, which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity, abideth in God, and God in him.

17 In this is the charity of God perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment: because as he is, we also are in this world.

18 Fear is not in charity: but perfect charity casteth out fear, because fear hath pain. And he that feareth, is not perfected in charity.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 72: 1-2, 10, 12-13

2 Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king’s son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.

10 The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:

12 For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.

Gospel: Mark 6: 45-52

45 And immediately he obliged his disciples to go up into the ship, that they might go before him over the water to Bethsaida, whilst he dismissed the people.

46 And when he had dismissed them, he went up to the mountain to pray.

47 And when it was late, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and himself alone on the land.

48 And seeing them labouring in rowing, (for the wind was against them,) and about the fourth watch of the night, he cometh to them walking upon the sea, and he would have passed by them.

49 But they seeing him walking upon the sea, thought it was an apparition, and they cried out.

50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he spoke with them, and said to them: Have a good heart, it is I, fear ye not.

51 And he went up to them into the ship, and the wind ceased: and they were far more astonished within themselves:

52 For they understood not concerning the loaves; for their heart was blinded.

पहला पाठ : 1 योहन 4:11-18

7) प्रिय भाइयो! हम एक दूसरे को प्यार करें, क्योंकि प्रेम ईश्वर से उत्पन्न होता है।

8) जौ प्यार करता है, वह ईश्वर की सन्तान है और ईश्वर को जानता है। जो प्यार नहीं करता, वह ईश्वर को नहीं जानता; क्येोंकि ईश्वर प्रेम है।

9) ईश्वर हम को प्यार करता है। यह इस से प्रकट हुआ है कि ईश्वर ने अपने एकलौते पुत्र को संसार में भेजा, जिससे हम उसके द्वारा जीवन प्राप्त करें।

10) ईश्वर के प्रेम की पहचान इस में है कि पहले हमने ईश्वर को नहीं, बल्कि ईश्वर ने हम को प्यार किया और हमारे पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए अपने पुत्र को भेजा।

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 6:45-52

11) प्रयि भाइयो! यदि ईश्वर ने हम को इतना प्यार किया, तो हम को भी एक दूसरे को प्यार करना चाहिए।

12) ईश्वर को किसी ने कभी नहीं देखा। यदि हम एक दूसरे को प्यार करते हैं, तो ईश्वर हम में निवास करता है और ईश्वर के प्रति हमारा प्रेम पूर्णता प्राप्त करता है।

13) यदि वह इस प्रकार हमें अपना आत्मा प्रदान करता है, तो हम जान जाते हैं कि हम उस में और वह हम में निवास करता है।

14) पिता ने अपने पुत्र को संसार के मुक्तिदाता के रूप में भेजा। हमने यह देखा है और हम इसका साक्ष्य देते हैं।

15) जो यह स्वीकार करता है कि ईसा ईश्वर के पुत्र हैं, ईश्वर उस में निवास करता है और वह ईश्वर में।

16) इस प्रकार हम अपने प्रति ईश्वर का प्रेम जान गये और इस में विश्वास करते हैं। ईश्वर प्रेम है और जो प्रेम में दृढ़ रहता है, वह ईश्वर में निवास करता है और ईश्वर उस में।

17) यदि हम पूरे भरोसे के साथ न्याय के दिन की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं, क्योंकि हम इस संसार में मसीह के अनुरूप आचरण करते हैं, तो हमारा प्रेम पूर्णता प्राप्त कर चुका है।

18) प्रेम में भय नहीं होता। पूर्ण प्रेम भय दूर कर देता है, क्योंकि भय में दण्ड की आशंका रहती है और जो डरता है, उसका प्रेम पूर्णता तक नहीं पहुँचा है।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

ईश्वर हमारा सृष्टिकर्ता है; हम उसी के पास से आते हैं और एक दिन उसी के पास लौट जाना है। यदि ईश्वर ही हमारे जीवन का स्रोत है, तो हमें अपनी आत्मा के लिए पोषण के लिए उसी से हमेशा जुड़े रहना पड़ेगा। भले ही प्रभु येसु स्वयं ईश्वर थे, लेकिन वे भी अपने स्वर्गीय पिता निरंतर जुड़े रहने के लिए प्रार्थना में समय बिताते हैं, ताकि मनुष्य बनकर हमारे बीच आने के अपने उद्देश्य को वो सदा याद रखें। आज के सुसमाचार में हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु येसु बड़े सवेरे एकांत स्थान में जाते हैं और प्रार्थना में समय बिताते हैं। अगर स्वयं ईश-पुत्र प्रार्थना में समय बिताते हैं तो हम कमजोर स्वभाव मनुष्यों को प्रार्थना में समय बिताने की कितनी ज़रूरत है? अगर हमें निरंतर ईश्वर से अपनी आत्मा के लिए पोषण चाहिए तो हमें प्रार्थना के द्वारा सदा उनसे जुड़े रहना और अपने हृदयों को उसका निवास स्थान बनाना होगा।

जब ईश्वर के साथ सम्बन्ध मज़बूत होता है तो ईश्वर हम में निवास करता है, और जब ईश्वर का निवास हमारे हृदय में है तो हम स्वयं में और दूसरों में उसकी उपस्थिति को पहचान सकते हैं। इसलिए संत योहन हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि यदि हम ईश्वर की संताने हैं तो हमें एक दूसरे को प्यार करना चाहिए। यदि हम ईश्वर को प्यार करते हैं तो हमें दूसरों को भी प्यार करना चाहिए क्योंकि वही अदृश्य ईश्वर उनमें भी निवास करता है। यदि हमें ईश्वर के साथ अपना सम्बन्ध मज़बूत बनाना है तो उससे पहले हमें अपने पड़ौसी के साथ अपना सम्बन्ध मज़बूत बनाना होगा। उस अदृश्य ईश्वर को प्यार करने से पहले हमें अपने भाई-बहनों को प्यार करना है जो उसी अदृश्य ईश्वर का साक्षात रूप हैं।

📚 REFLECTION

God is our creator; we came from him and we have to go back to him. If God is the source of our life then we need to remain connected with him so that we continue to receive sustenance for our souls. Jesus himself was God, but he was to remain in constant union with the Father, so that he is always aware of the purpose of his coming down and taking our form. We see in the gospel today that he goes to a lonely place and spends time in prayer. If son of God himself spends time in prayer, then how much we need to pray as we are mere weak human beings. If we have to draw constant sustenance from God, then we need to remain in God, and make our hearts his dwelling place.

When we are strengthened in our relationship with God, then God dwells within us and when God dwells within us, we can recognise God within us as well as in others around us. That’s why St. John reminds us that if we are children of God then we must love one another. If we love God then we must also love others because same invisible God dwells within them. So if we have to strengthen our relationship with God then before that we have to strengthen our relationship with our neighbour. In order to love invisible God we must first love our brothers and sisters who are the visible image of same God our father.
