आगमन का तीसरा सप्ताह, सोमवार
📒 पहला पाठ : गणना 24:2-7,15-17
2) अपनी आँखें ऊपर उठायीं और इस्राएलियों को देखा, जो अपने-अपने वंश के अनुसार शिविर डाल चुके थे। ईश्वर का आत्मा उस पर उतरा
3) और वह अपना यह काव्य सुनाने लगाः
4) यह उसकी भविष्यवाणी है, जो ईश्वर के वचन सुनता
5) याकूब! तुम्हारे तम्बू कितने सुन्दर है!
6) वे घाटियों की तरह फैले हुए हैं,
7) इस्राएलियों के पात्र जल से भरे रहेंगे,
15) इसके बाद बिलआम ने फिर कहा
16) यह उसकी भविष्यवाणी है, जो ईश्वर के वचन सुनता
17) मैं उसे देखता हूँ - किन्तु वर्तमान में नहीं,
📙 सुसमाचार : मत्ती 21:23-27
23) जब ईसा मंदिर पहुँच गये थे और शिक्षा दे रहे थे, तो महायाजक और जनता के नेता उनके पास आ कर बोले, "आप किस अधिकार से यह सब कर रहें हैं? किसने आप को यह अधिकार दिया ?"
24) ईसा ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, "मैं भी आप लोगों से एक प्रश्न पूछना चाहता हूँ। यदि आप मुझे इसका उत्तर देंगे, तो मैं भी आपको बता दूँगा कि मैं किस अधिकार से यह सब कर रहा हूँ।
25) योहन का बपतिस्मा कहाँ का था? स्वर्ग का अथवा मनुष्यों का?" वे यह कहते हुए आपस में परामर्श करते थे - "यदि हम कहें: ’स्वर्ग का’, तो यह हम से कहेंगे, ’तब आप लोगों ने उस पर विश्वास क्यों नहीं किया?’
26) यदि हम कहें: ’मनुष्यों का’, तो जनता से डर है! क्योंकि सब योहन को नबी मानते हैं।"
27) इसलिए उन्होंने ईसा को उत्तर दिया, "हम नहीं जानते"। इस पर ईसा ने उन से कहा, "तब मैं भी आप लोगों को नहीं बताऊँगा कि मैं किस अधिकार से यह सब कर रहा हूँ।
📚 मनन-चिंतन
प्रभु येसु के लिए यरूशलेम का मंदिर उनके पिता का घर था। लूकस 2:49 में जब वे खो गये और मंदिर में पाये गये, तो उन्होंने अपने माता-पिता से पूछा, "मुझे ढूँढ़ने की ज़रूरत क्या थी? क्या आप यह नहीं जानते थे कि मैं निश्चय ही अपने पिता के घर होऊँग?” मन्दिर में बिक्री करने वालों को निष्कासित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा, "यह सब यहाँ से हटा ले जाओ। मेरे पिता के घर को बाजार मत बनाओ।” (योहन 2:16)। कई बार प्रभु येसु ने मंदिर में लोगों को तथा अपने शिष्यों को शिक्षा दी। वहाँ पर उन्होंने कई चमत्कार भी किए। वहां उन्हें अपने घर पर होना महसूस होता था। इसके अलावा उन्होंने अधिकार के साथ शिक्षा दी। उनके बयान अक्सर उनके विरोधियों के मुंह बंद कर देते हैं। वे अशुध्दात्माओं को अधिकार के साथ आज्ञा देते थे और वे लोगों से निकल जाते थे। उन्होंने बीमारियों को डाँट कर रोगियों को चंगा किया। समुद्र और हवा भी उनकी आज्ञा मानती थीं। यहूदी नेताओं ने प्रभु की इन आधिकारिक कार्रवाइयों पर सवाल उठाया। इसलिए उन्होंने उनसे पूछा, "आप किस अधिकार से यह सब कर रहें हैं? किसने आप को यह अधिकार दिया ?" सृष्टि-कार्य के दौरान ईश्वर ने मानव को आशीर्वाद देते हुए कहा, ''फलोफूलो। पृथ्वी पर फैल जाओ और उसे अपने अधीन कर लो। समुद्र की मछलियों, आकाश के पक्षियों और पृथ्वी पर विचरने वाले सब जीवजन्तुओं पर शासन करो।'' (उत्पत्ति 1:28)। प्रभु येसु के प्रलोभन के समय, शैतान ने दावा किया कि यह अधिकार उसके पास है। उसने येसु से कहा, “मैं आप को इन सभी राज्यों का अधिकार और इनका वैभव दे दूँगा। यह सब मुझे दे दिया गया है और मैं जिस को चाहता हूँ, उस को यह देता हूँ। यदि आप मेरी आराधना करें, तो यह सब आप को मिल जायेगा।"(लूकस 4: 6-7)। प्रभु येसु ने, ईश्वर की योजना के अनुसार सच्चे मनुष्य होने के नाते, इस अधिकार को पुनः प्राप्त किया। स्वर्गारोहण से पहले वे अपने शिष्यों से कहते हैं, "मुझे स्वर्ग में और पृथ्वी पर पूरा अधिकार मिला है।" (मत्ती 28:18)। आइए हम ईश्वर की सन्तान होने की गरिमा के लिए प्रभु का धन्यवाद करें।
📚 REFLECTION
For Jesus, the temple of Jerusalem was his Father’s house. In Luke 2:49 when he was lost and found in the temple, he asked his parents, “Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” While cleansing the temple he said, “Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace” (Jn 2:16). Jesus taught very often in the temple and worked many miracles there. He felt at home there. Besides he taught with authority. His statements often shut the mouths of his opponents. He commanded the evil spirits with authority and they left the person whom they possessed. He commanded the sicknesses to leave the sick. He even commanded the dead to rise. He commanded the sea and the wind. The Jewish leaders questioned these authoritative actions of Jesus. Hence they asked him, “Who gave you this authority?”
At creation God gave human beings authority “over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth” (Gen 1:28). When Jesus was tempted, devil claimed to have already taken over this authority which human beings lost by sin. The devil tells Jesus, “To you I will give their glory and all this authority; for it has been given over to me, and I give it to anyone I please. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” (Lk 4:6-7). Jesus, as true man as per the plan of God, reclaimed this authority. He would say before ascension, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Mt 28:18). Let us thank the Lord for our dignity of the Children of God.

येसु ने अपने कई कार्यों और संदेशों में महान ज्ञान का प्रदर्शन किया। मत्ती 22: 23-34 में, हम देखते हैं कि उन्होंने कैसे सदूकियों को चुप कराया जब उन्होंने मृतकों के पुनरुत्थान पर उनके साथ चर्चा की। जब लोगों ने उन्हें अपने सवालों के जाल में फंसाने की कोशिश की, तो उन्होंने उन्हें एक अप्रत्याशित और असाधारण जवाब दिया। योहन 8: 7 में, येसु ने व्यभिचार में पकड़ी गई महिला को पत्थर मारने पर अड़ी हुई हिंसक भीड़ को बताया, "तुम में जो निष्पाप हो, वह इसे सब से पहले पत्थर मारे"। इससे उन्हें खुद को आत्मनिरीक्षण करना पड़ा और अपनी कमियों का एहसास हुआ। ईश्वर का वचन हृदय के रूपांतरण के लिए है। यह तभी संभव है जब हर कोई जो ईश्वर का वचन सुनता है, वह इसे सबसे पहले स्वयं पर लागू करता है, किसी और पर लागू करने से पहले। संत याकूब अपने पत्र 1: 22-25 में ईश्वर के वचन की तुलना दर्पण से करते हैं जिसमें हम स्वयं को देखते हैं। आज के सुसमाचार में हम देखते हैं कि प्रधान याजक और जनता के नेता येसु से पूछते हैं कि उनके पास क्या अधिकार है और किसने उन्हें यह अधिकार दिया है। उन्होंने शायद सोचा था कि वे इस सवाल से येसु पर अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित करेंगे। लेकिन येसु ने उनके सवाल का जवाब देने के बजाय, उनसे एक सवाल किया और नतीजतन वे चुप हो गए। ईश्वर के साथ हर मुलाकात आत्मनिरीक्षण, सुधार और आत्म-नवीनीकरण का समय है। हो सकता है कि क्रिसमस का पर्व हममें से प्रत्येक के लिए आत्म-नवीनीकरण का समय हो।
REFLECTION
Jesus exhibited great wisdom in many of his actions and messages. In Mt 22:23-34, we see how he silenced the Sadducees when they discussed with him on the resurrection of the dead. When people tried to trap him by their questions, oftentimes he gave them an unexpected and extraordinary answer. In Jn 8:7, Jesus told the violent crowd who were adamant on stoning the woman caught in adultery to death, “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her”. This led them to introspect themselves and realize their own shortcomings. The Word of God is meant for conversion of the heart. This is possible only when everyone who hears the Word of God applies it first of all to the self, before applying it to anyone else. In the Letter of St. James 1:22-25 the Word of God is compared to a mirror in which we see ourselves. In today’s Gospel we find the chief priests and the elders of the people asking Jesus as to what authority he had and who gave him that authority. They probably thought that by this question they would establish their supremacy over Jesus. But instead of answering their question, Jesus put a counter-question to them and as a result they were silenced. Every encounter with God is a time for introspection, correction and self-renewal. May the coming feast of Nativity be a time of self-renewal for each one of us.
