First Reading: Second John 1: 4-9

4 I was exceeding glad, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing a new commandment to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

6 And this is charity, that we walk according to his commandments. For this is the commandment, that, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in the same:

7 For many seducers are gone out into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: this is a seducer and an antichrist.

8 Look to yourselves, that you lose not the things which you have wrought: but that you may receive a full reward.

9 Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.

Gospel: Luke 17: 26-37

26 And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27 They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.

28 Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.

29 And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.

31 In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back.

32 Remember Lot’s wife.

33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it.

34 I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

35 Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

36 They answering, say to him: Where, Lord?

37 Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.

वर्ष का बत्तीसवाँ सामान्य सप्ताह, शुक्रवार

📒 पहला पाठ : 2 योहन 4-9

4) मुझे यह देख कर बड़ा आनन्द हुआ कि आपकी कुछ सन्तानें सत्य के मार्ग पर चलती हैं, जैसा कि हमें पिता की ओर से आदेश मिला है।

5) अब, भद्रे! मेरा आप से एक निवेदन है। मैं आप को कोई नया आदेश नहीं, बल्कि वही आदेश दे रहा हूँ, जो हमें प्रारम्भ से प्राप्त है- हम एक दूसरे को प्यार करें।

6) और प्यार का अर्थ यह है कि हम उसकी आज्ञाओं के मार्ग पर चलते रहें। जो आदेश आप को प्रारम्भ से प्राप्त है, वह यह है कि आप को प्रेम के मार्ग पर चलना चाहिए।

7) बहुत-से भटकाने वाले संसार में फैल गये हैं। वे यह नहीं मानते कि ईसा मसीह सचमुच मनुष्य बन गये थे। यह भटकाने वाले और मसीह-विरोधी का लक्षण है।

8) आप लोग सावधान रहें, जिससे आप अपने परिश्रम का फल न खो बैठें, बल्कि अपना पूरा पुरस्कार प्राप्त करें।

9) जो मसीह की शिक्षा की सीमा के अन्दर नहीं रहता, बल्कि उस से आगे बढ़ता है, उसे ईश्वर प्राप्त नहीं है। जो शिक्षा की सीमा के अन्दर रहता है, उसे पिता और पुत्र, दोनों प्राप्त हैं।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 17:26-37

26) "जो नूह के दिनों में हुआ था, वही मानव पुत्र के दिनों में भी होगा।

27) नूह के जहाज़ पर चढ़ने के दिन तक लोग खाते-पीते और शादी-ब्याह करते रहे। तब जलप्रलय आया और उसने सब को नष्ट कर दिया।

28) लोट के दिनों में भी यही हुआ था। लोग खाते-पीते, लेन-देन करते, पेड़ लगाते और घर बनाते रहे;

29) परन्तु जिस दिन लोट ने सोदोम छोड़ा, ईश्वर ने आकाश से आग और गंधक बरसायी और सब-के-सब नष्ट हो गये।

30) मानव पुत्र के प्रकट होने के दिन वैसा ही होगा।

31) "उस दिन जो छत पर हो और उसका सामान घर में हो, वह उसे ले जाने नीचे न उतरे और जो खेत में हो, वह भी घर न लौटे।

32) लोट की पत्नी को याद करो।

33) जो अपना जीवन सुरक्षित रखने का प्रयत्न करेगा, वह उसे खो देगा, और जो उसे खो देगा, वह उसे सुरक्षित रखेगा।

34) "मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, उस रात दो एक खाट पर होंगे-एक उठा लिया जायेगा और दूसरा छोड़ दिया जायेगा।

35) दो स्त्रियाँ साथ-साथ चक्की पीसती होंगी-एक उठा ली जायेगी और दूसरी छोड़ दी जायेगी।"

36) "मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, दो खेत में होंगे-एक उठा लिया जायेगा और दूसरा छोड़ दिया जायेगा।

37) इस पर उन्होंने ईसा से पूछा, "प्र्रभु! यह कहाँ होगा?" उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, "जहाँ लाश होगी, वहाँ गीध भी इकट्ठे हो जायेंगे"।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

प्रभु येसु आज के सुसमाचार में दो घटनाओं का उदाहरण देते हुए उसकी समानता मानव पुत्र के दिन से करते है। इन दो घटनाओं में दो समानता मिलती है। एक तो किस दिन वह प्रलय या आग और गंधरस आने वाला है किसी को ज्ञात नहीं था दूसरा जो लोग वह समय आने तक खाते पीते और अपने जीवन में मग्न थे उन सबका सर्वनाश हो जाता है। नूह के समय एवं लोट के समय की घटनाओं का उदाहरण देते हुए प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, ‘‘मानव पुत्र के प्रकट होने के दिन भी वैसा ही होगा।‘‘ अर्थात् वह दिन कब आयेगा हमें मालूम नहीं होगा तथा जो उस समय तक खाते-पीते, अपने जीवन में मग्न रहते तथा जो सोचते कि ऐसा कुछ नहीं होगा इसलिए जीवन में मौज मस्ती कर के जीयो उन सबका वही हाल होगा जो उन दो घटनाओं में हुआ।

हम इस जीवन में इतने मग्न हो जाते है कि हम सोचते है यही असली जीवन है इसलिए हम इस जीवन को सुरक्षित करने के लिए हर सम्भव प्रयास करते हैं। परंतु जो कोई आने वाले जीवन के लिए इस जीवन को खो देता है वह उसे सुरक्षित पायेगा। अपने जीवन को खोने का तात्पर्य है कू्रस उठाकर प्रभु के पीछे हो लेना। तथा प्रभु के पीछे हो लेने में जितना भी दुःख तकलीफ, अत्याचार सामने आता है उसको स्वीकार करना। प्रभु के पीछे बहुत लोग हो लेते हैं परंतु जब इस कारण संकट, परेशानियॉं आती है तो अपने आप को बचाने के लिए बहुत से लोग पीछे हट जाते हैं।

इस संसार में कई लोग है जो साथ साथ में रहते है परंतु जब समय आयेगा तो कुछ लोग ही चुन लिये जायेंगे हम एक साथ खेलते हों, काम करते हों, साथ रहते हो परंतु जो अपने जीवन में प्रभु के आगमन की तैयारी हेतु जीवन बिताता है वहीं चुन लिया जायेगा और बाकी का सर्वनाश हो जायेगा। हम प्रार्थना करें कि उस आने वाले दिन के लिए अपने आप को तैयार पायें। आमेन!

📚 REFLECTION

Lord Jesus in today’s gospel giving the example of two events shows the similarity to the coming of Son of Man. In the two incidents two things were similar. First that when the destruction will take place nobody was knowing the date and time. Secondly, the people who were eating and drinking and were immersed in their life till that day came, all were destroyed. Giving the example of Noah’s time and Lot’s time Lord Jesus says, “It will be like that on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.” Which means to say when the Son of Man will come we will not know and till the Son of Man comes those who were eating and drinking, immersed in their life and were thinking that this will not happen so enjoy the life, same thing will happen to them happened in the two events.

We are so immersed in this world that we think this is the real life and that’s why we try to secure this life in all possible ways. But one who loses this life for the life to come will gain it. To lose one’s life means to take us the cross and follow Jesus and accepting whatever difficulty, sorrows, pain, persecutions comes in following Jesus. Many follow Jesus but when difficulties and troubles start coming then to save themselves they stop following.

In this world many live together but when the time will come then only some will be chosen. We may play together, work together, live together but one who prepare his life for the second coming of Jesus he/she only will be chosen and will be saved and rest will be destroyed. Let’s pray that we all may find ourselves ready and worthy when the time comes. Amen!
