Gospel: Mark 5: 21-43

21 And when Jesus had passed again in the ship over the strait, a great multitude assembled together unto him, and he was nigh unto the sea.

22 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue named Jairus: and seeing him, falleth down at his feet.

23 And he besought him much, saying: My daughter is at the point of death, come, lay thy hand upon her, that she may be safe, and may live.

24 And he went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him.

25 And a woman who was under an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things from many physicians; and had spent all that she had, and was nothing the better, but rather worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the crowd behind him, and touched his garment.

28 For she said: If I shall touch but his garment, I shall be whole.

29 And forthwith the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the evil.

30 And immediately Jesus knowing in himself the virtue that had proceeded from him, turning to the multitude, said: Who hath touched my garments?

31 And his disciples said to him: Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou who hath touched me?

32 And he looked about to see her who had done this.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said to her: Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole: go in peace, and be thou whole of thy disease.

35 While he was yet speaking, some come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying: Thy daughter is dead: why dost thou trouble the master any further?

36 But Jesus having heard the word that was spoken, saith to the ruler of the synagogue: Fear not, only believe.

37 And he admitted not any man to follow him, but Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38 And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing much.

39 And going in, he saith to them: Why make you this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But he having put them all out, taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

41 And taking the damsel by the hand, he saith to her: Talitha cumi, which is, being interpreted: Damsel (I say to thee) arise.

42 And immediately the damsel rose up, and walked: and she was twelve years old: and they were astonished with a great astonishment.

43 And he charged them strictly that no man should know it: and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

वर्ष का तेरहवाँ सामान्य इतवार

पहला पाठ :प्रज्ञा-ग्रन्थ 1:13-15;2:23-24

13) ईश्वर ने मृत्यु नहीं बनायी; वह प्राणियों की मृत्यु से प्रसन्न नहीं होता।

14) उसने सब कुछ की सृष्टि इसलिए की है कि वह अस्तित्व में बना रहे। संसार में जो कुछ है, वह हितकर है; उस में कहीं भी घातक विष नहीं। अधोलोक पृथ्वी पर शासन नहीं करता;

15) क्योंकि न्याय का कभी अन्त नहीं होगा।

23) ईश्वर ने मनुष्य को अमर बनाया; उसने उसे अपना ही प्रतिरूप बनाया।

24) शैतान की ईर्ष्या के कारण ही मृत्यु संसार में आयी है। जो लोग शैतान का साथ देते हैं, वे अवश्य ही मृत्यु का शिकार हो जाते हैं।

दूसरा पाठ: कुरिन्थियों के नाम सन्त पौलुस का दूसरा पत्र 8:7,9,13-15

7) आप लोग हर बात में- विश्वास, अभिव्यक्ति, ज्ञान, सब प्रकार की धर्म-सेवा और हमारे प्रति प्रेम में बढ़े-चढ़ें हैं; इसलिए आप लोगों को इस परोपकार में भी बड़ी उदारता दिखानी चाहिए।

9) आप लोग हमारे प्रभु ईसा मसीह की उदारता जानते हैं। वह धनी थे, किन्तु आप लोगों के कारण निर्धन बन गये, जिससे आप उनकी निर्धनता द्वारा धनी बन गये।

13) मैं यह नहीं चाहता कि दूसरों को आराम देने से आप लोगों को कष्ट हो। यह बराबरी की बात है।

14) इस समय आप लोगों की समृद्धि उनकी तंगी दूर करेगी, जिससे किसी दिन उन की समृद्धि आपकी तंगी दूर कर दे और इस तरह बराबरी हो जाये।

15) जैसा कि लिखा है-जिसने बहुत बटोरा था, उसके पास अधिक नहीं निकला और जिसने थोड़ा बटोरा था, उसके पास कम नहीं निकला।

सुसमाचार : सन्त मारकुस का सुसमाचार 5:21-43

21) जब ईसा नाव से उस पार पहॅूचे, तो समुद्र के तट पर उनके पास एक विशाल जनसमूह एकत्र हो गया।

22) उस समय सभागृह का जैरूस नाम एक अधिकारी आया। ईसा को देख कर वह उनके चरणों पर गिर पड़ा

23) और यह कहते हुए अनुनय-विनय करता रहा, ’’मेरी बेटी मरने पर है। आइए और उस पर हाथ रखिए, जिससे वह अच्छी हो जाये और जीवित रह सके।’’

24) ईसा उसके साथ चले। एक बड़ी भीड़ उनके पीछे हो ली और लोग चारों ओर से उन पर गिरे पड़ते थे।

25) एक स्त्री बारह बरस से रक्तस्राव से पीडि़त थी।

26) अनेकानेक वैद्यों के इलाज के कारण उसे बहुत कष्ट सहना पड़ा था और सब कुछ ख़र्च करने पर भी उसे कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ था।

27) उसने ईसा के विषय में सुना था और भीड़ में पीछे से आ कर उनका कपड़ा छू लिया,

28) क्योंकि वह मन-ही-मन कहती थी, ’यदि मैं उनका कपड़ा भर छूने पाऊॅ, तो अच्छी हो जाऊँगी’।

29) उसका रक्तस्राव उसी क्षण सूख गया और उसने अपने शरीर में अनुभव किया कि मेरा रोग दूर हो गया है।

30) ईसा उसी समय जान गये कि उन से शक्ति निकली है। भीड़ में मुड़ कर उन्होंने पूछा, ’’किसने मेरा कपड़ा छुआ?’’

31) उनके शिष्यों ने उन से कहा, ’’आप देखते ही है कि भीड़ आप पर गिरी पड़ती है। तब भी आप पूछते हैं- किसने मेरा स्पर्श किया?’’

32) जिसने ऐसा किया था, उसका पता लगाने के लिए ईसा ने चारों ओर दृष्टि दौड़ायी।

33) वह स्त्री, यह जान कर कि उसे क्या हो गया है, डरती- काँपती हुई आयी और उन्हें दण्डवत् कर सारा हाल बता दिया।

34) ईसा ने उस से कहा, ’’बेटी! तुम्हारे विश्वास ने तुम्हें चंगा कर दिया है। शान्ति प्राप्त कर जाओ और अपने रोग से मुक्त रहो।’’

35) ईसा यह कह ही रहे थे कि सभागृह के अधिकारी के यहाँ से लोग आये और बोले, ’’आपकी बेटी मर गयी है। अब गुरुवर को कष्ट देने की ज़रूरत ही क्या है?’’

36) ईसा ने उनकी बात सुन कर सभागृह के अधिकारी से कहा, ’’डरिए नहीं। बस, विश्वास कीजिए।’’

37) ईसा ने पेत्रुस, याकूब और याकूब के भाई योहन के सिवा किसी को भी अपने साथ आने नहीं दिया।

38) जब वे सभागृह के अधिकारी के यहाँ पहुँचे, तो ईसा ने देखा कि कोलाहल मचा हुआ है और लोग विलाप कर रहे हैं।

39) उन्होंने भीतर जा कर लोगों से कहा, ’’यह कोलाहल, यह विलाप क्यों? लड़की मरी नहीं, सो रही है।’’

40) इस पर वे उनकी हँसी उड़ाते रहे। ईसा ने सब को बाहर कर दिया और वह लड़की के माता-पिता और अपने साथियों के साथ उस जगह आये, जहाँ लड़की पड़ी हुई थी।

41) लड़की का हाथ पकड़ कर उस से कहा, ’तालिथा कुम’’। इसका अर्थ है- ओ लड़की! मैं तुम से कहता हूँः उठो।

42) लड़की उसी क्षण उठ खड़ी हुई और चलने-फिरने लगी, क्योंकि वह बारह बरस की थी। लोग बड़े अचम्भे में पड़ गये।

43) ईसा ने उन्हें बहुत समझा कर आदेश दिया कि यह बात कोई न जान पाये और कहा कि लड़की को कुछ खाने को दो।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज के पाठों में हमें जीवन का उपहार दोनों शारीरिक और अध्यात्मिक, जिसे ईश्वर ने हमें दिया है, के बारे में बताया गया है। वे हमें प्रेरित और चुनौती देता है कि हम कृतज्ञ बनकर अपने शरीर और आत्मा में ईश्वर के वरदान और स्वास्थ्य को जिम्मेदारी के साथ निभायें।

आज के पहले पाठ में प्रज्ञा ग्रन्थ हमें बताता है कि ईश्वर ने हमें जीवन और स्वास्थ्य दिया है, और शैतान की ईष्या के कारण बीमारी और मृत्यु उत्पन्न हुई। पाठ हमें आगे बताता है कि हमारे इस संसार में जीवन का उददेश्य इस पृथ्वी पर ईश्वर को जानना, प्रेम करना और उसकी सेवा एक स्वच्छ शरीर और आत्मा से उनके अमर जीवन का सहभागी बनना।

आज के दूसरे पाठ मे संत पौलुस कहते हैं कि कुरिन्थ के ख्रीस्तीय समुदाय को उनके समृध्दि, उनके तंगी में आये यहुदी भाइयो एवं बाहनों। जो योरूशालेम में उनके प्रति दया और सहानुभूति दिखाते हैं, जिसे प्रभु येसु ने अपनी स्वास्थ्य सेवा में प्रदर्शित किया था। संत पौलुस उनसे कहते हैं कि वे उदार हदय से तगीं में आये भाई-बहनों के लिए चन्दा जमा करें।

आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु के दो चमत्कारों पर प्रकाश डाला गया है, रक्तस्राव से पीड़ित महिला का स्वास्थ्य जो रक्तस्राव के बीमारी से पीड़ित थी और जैरूस की बेटी का मृत्यु से जीवन में वापस आना। ये दोनों उपचार शिक्षा देता है कि प्रभु येसु जीवन चाहते हैं, एक भरपुर जीवन जो ईश्वर अपने बच्चों के लिए देता है। दोनों उपचार प्रभु येसु के उदारता, दयालुता और सहानुभूति को प्रकट करता है, जिससे मनुष्य को प्रभु की दैवी शक्ति और हमारे प्रभु की अनन्त दया का प्रमाण देते हैं। ये दोनों चमत्कार प्रभु द्वारा पुरूस्कार के लिए किया गये, सभाग्रह के शासक और रक्तस्राव से पीड़ित महिला द्वारा विश्वास कर सकें।

📚 REFLECTION

Today is the thirteenth Sunday of the year. Today’s readings speak about gift of life both physical and spiritual which God has given us. They urge and challenge us to be grateful for our health in body and soul and to use God’s gifts of life and health responsibly.

Today’s first reading taken from the book of Wisdom tells us that God has given us life and health and it is Satan’s jealousy which produced illness and death. The readings also further tell the goal of our life is to know, to love and to serve God here on earth with perfect health in body and soul and share immortal life forever.

In today’s second reading Paul tells the Corinthian Christian community to show their impoverished, suffering Jewish brothers and sisters in Jerusalem the kindness and compassion which Jesus expressed in his healing ministry. Paul asks the community to be generous in their contributions to a fund collected for these suffering brothers and sisters.

In today’s gospel Jesus’ two miracles have been highlighted: healing of a woman who suffered from a chronic bleeding disease and the returning of the dead daughter of Jairus to life. These both healings teach us that Jesus wills life, the full life, for all God’s children. These healings also reveal Jesus as a generous, kind and compassion God who wills that men should live their lives fully. They also give us further proof of the divine power and infinite mercy of our saviour. These miracles were performed by Jesus as a reward for trusting faith of the synagogue ruler and of the woman with a haemorrhage.

मनन-चिंतन-2

आज के सुसमाचार को सैंडविच सुसमाचार भी कहते है। क्योंकि येसु जैरूस की मृत पुत्री को जिलाने जाने के रास्ते में ही बारह साल से रक्तस्राव से पीडित महिला को चंगाई प्रदान करते हैं। इन दोनों चमत्कारों को देखते हुए हमें दो बिन्दुओं पर नज़र डालना चाहिए।

1. दुःख तकलीफ में प्रभु पर विश्वास रखना है।

2. प्रभु छोटे विश्वास को भी बढावा देते है।

रक्तस्राव से पीडित महिला बारह साल से परेशान थी। लेवी ग्रंथ 15:19 में लिखा है ‘‘यदि किसी स्त्री का मासिक स्राव हो, तो वह सात दिन तक अशुद्ध रहेगी और जो उसका स्पर्श करेगा, वह शाम तक अशुद्ध रहेगा।’’ आगे लेवी 15:25 में लिखा है ‘‘यदि किसी स्त्री को उसके मासिक धर्म के दिनों के सिवा अन्य दिनों में अथवा मासिक धर्म पूरा होने के बाद रक्तस्राव होता रहे, तो वह उस समय ऋतुकाल की तरह अशुद्ध है।’’ इससे हम अंदाजा लगा सकते है कि बारह साल की इस बीमारी से वह कितनी परेशान हो गयी होगी। बारह साल तक किसी ने उसको स्पर्श नहीं किया होगा। लोगों को या किसी वस्तु को स्पर्श करने से वह डरती थी। उसे येसु को स्पर्श करने की हिम्मत नहीं थी। इसलिए उसने पीछे से जाकर उनका कपडा छू लिया। इसके पूर्व उसने बहुत से वेदयों के पास इलाज करवाया और बहुत पैसा भी खर्च किया लेकिन बावजूद भी उसे कोई राहत नहीं मिली। तब वह प्रभु पर आखरी भरोसा रखते हुए उनके पास आती है। उसका विश्वास था कि प्रभु उसे ठीक कर सकते है।

जैरूस सभागृह का अधिकारी था उसके पास पैसे की कोई कमी नहीं थी। शायद उसने बहुत लोगों की मदद भी की होगी। अपनी बेटी को अच्छा से अच्छा इलाज दिया होगा इसके बावजूद भी जब बीमारी में कोई फर्क नहीं दिखा तो वह प्रभु के पास जाता है। उसकी निस्सहाय अवस्था को दर्शाते हुए बाइबिल में लिखा है कि वह प्रभु से अनुनय विनय करने लगा। एक अधिकारी प्रभु के सामने अपने आपको दीन हीन बनाता है। उसको प्रभु पर भरोसा था। प्रभु पर आसरा और भरोसा रखने वालों को प्रभु कभी नहीं छोडते।

2. प्रभु छोटे विश्वास को भी बढ़ावा देते हैः

रक्तस्राव से पीडित स्त्री के मन में यह विचार था कि वह प्रभु के वस्त्र के पल्ले को छू भी ले तो वह ठीक हो जायेगी। और जैसे ही वह ठीक हुई वह संतुष्ट थी और वहॉं से चुपचाप निकलने का इरादा थी। लेकिन प्रभु ने उसके इस विश्वास को लोगों के सामने प्रस्तुत किया। वे उसको सबके सामने लाये और अपने विश्वास का साक्ष्य करवाया। उस स्त्री के विश्वास के कारण वहॉं पर प्रभु ने एक विश्वास भरे जन समूह की स्थापना की।

जैरूस जब प्रभु से मिलने आये तब उनके मन में केवल एक ही चिन्ता थी कि उसकी बेटी ठीक हो जाये। वह प्रभु के पास इसलिए आया कि उसको प्रभु पर विश्वास था। प्रभु ने उनके विश्वास को बनाये रखते हुए बेटी की मृत्यु होने पर भी उसको जिलाया। प्रभु द्वारा अपने बेटी को चंगाई दिलाने का जैरूस का विश्वास बडी मात्रा में वहॉं पर उपस्थित लोगों के विश्वास में परिवर्तन होता है।

हरेक व्यक्ति का ईश्वर पर विश्वास करने और उस विश्वास को प्रकट करने का अपना अलग अलग तरीका है। कुछ लोग ऊॅंची आवाज से प्रार्थना करते हुए प्रभु की स्तुति करते है इसी प्रकार कुछ लोग मौन रुप से प्राथना करना पसंद करते है और कुछ लोगों को लगातार बाईबिल या कोई आध्यात्मिक किताब पढ़ना अच्छा लगता है। हम जैसे भी अपने विश्वास की साधना करते है या प्रकट करते है उन सब को प्रभु देखते है। हमारा छोटा विश्वास भी बडा काम कर सकते है इसलिए प्रभु ने कहा ‘‘यदि तुम्हारा विश्वास राई के दाने के बराबर भी हो और तुम इस पहाड से यह कहो यहॉं से वहॉं तक हट जा, तो यह हट जायोगा; और तुम्हारे लिए कुछ भी असंभव नहीं होगा (मती 17:20).

अब हमे मनन चिंतन करना चाहिए कि हमारा विश्वास कितना मजबूत है? क्या हम अपनी दुःख तकलीफ में प्रभु के पास जाने की हिम्मत रखते हैं? प्रभु को हमारा इंतज़ार है। वे हमारा विश्वास मजबूत करना और बढ़ाना चाहते है। हम प्रभु में भरोसा रखना सीखे वह हमें संभालेगे। हमारा विश्वास कुछ एैसा रहे वैसे कोलोन शहर की एक दीवार पर लिखा है, ’’सूरज की किरण नहीं देखने पर भी मैं सूरज पर विश्वास करता हूँ। प्यार का एहसास नहीं होने पर भी मुझे प्यार में विश्वास है। ईश्वर को नहीं देखने से भी मैं उन पर विश्वास करता हूँ।’’
