First Reading: Philippians 2:5-11

5 For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. 

8 He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.

9 For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names:

10 That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth:

11 And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 22: 26b-27, 28-30ab, 30e, 31-32

26 With thee is my praise in a great church: I will pay my vows in the sight of them that fear him.

27 The poor shall eat and shall be filled: and they shall praise the Lord that seek him: their hearts shall live for ever and ever.

28 All the ends of the earth shall remember, and shall be converted to the Lord: And all the kindreds of the Gentiles shall adore in his sight.

29 For the kingdom is the Lord’s; and he shall have dominion over the nations.

30 All the fat ones of the earth have eaten and have adored: all they that go down to the earth shall fall before him.

31 And to him my soul shall live: and my seed shall serve him.

32 There shall be declared to the Lord a generation to come: and the heavens shall shew forth his justice to a people that shall be born, which the Lord hath made.

Gospel: Luke 14: 15-24

15 When one of them that sat at table with him, had heard these things, he said to him: Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

16 But he said to him: A certain man made a great supper, and invited many.

17 And he sent his servant at the hour of supper to say to them that were invited, that they should come, for now all things are ready.

18 And they began all at once to make excuse. The first said to him: I have bought a farm, and I must needs go out and see it: I pray thee, hold me excused.

19 And another said: I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to try them: I pray thee, hold me excused.

20 And another said: I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21 And the servant returning, told these things to his lord. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant: Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the feeble, and the blind, and the lame.

22 And the servant said: Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

23 And the Lord said to the servant: Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

24 But I say unto you, that none of those men that were invited, shall taste of my supper.

वर्ष का इकत्तीसवाँ सामान्य सप्ताह, मंगलवार

📒 पहला पाठ : फिलिप्पियों 2:5‍-11

5) आप लोग अपने मनोभावों को ईसा मसीह के मनोभावों के अनुसार बना लें।

6) वह वास्तव में ईश्वर थे और उन को पूरा अधिकार था कि वह ईश्वर की बराबरी करें,

7) फिर भी उन्होंने दास का रूप धारण कर तथा मनुष्यों के समान बन कर अपने को दीन-हीन बना लिया और उन्होंने मनुष्य का रूप धारण करने के बाद

8) मरण तक, हाँ क्रूस पर मरण तक, आज्ञाकारी बन कर अपने को और भी दीन बना लिया।

9) इसलिए ईश्वर ने उन्हें महान् बनाया और उन को वह नाम प्रदान किया, जो सब नामों में श्रेष्ठ है,

10) जिससे ईसा का नाम सुन कर आकाश, पृथ्वी तथा अधोलोक के सब निवासी घुटने टेकें

11) और पिता की महिमा के लिए सब लोग यह स्वीकार करें कि ईसा मसीह प्रभु हैं।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 14:15-24

15) साथ भोजन करने वालों में किसी ने यह सुन कर ईसा से कहा, "धन्य है वह, जो ईश्वर के राज्य में भोजन करेगा!"

16) ईसा ने उत्तर दिया, "किसी मनुष्य ने एक बड़े भोज का आयोजन किया और बहुत-से लोगों को निमन्त्रण दिया।

17) भोजन के समय उसने अपने सेवक द्वारा निमन्त्रित लोगों को यह कहला भेजा कि आइए, क्योंकि अब सब कुछ तैयार है।

18) लेकिन वे सभी बहाना करने लगे। पहले ने कहा, ’मैंने खेत मोल लिया है और मुझे उसे देखने जाना है। तुम से मेरा निवेदन है, मेरी ओर से क्षमा माँग लेना।’

19) दूसरे ने कहा, ’मैंने पाँच जोड़े बैल ख़रीदे हैं और उन्हें परखने जा रहा हूँ। तुम से मेरा निवेदन है, मेरी ओर से क्षमा माँग लेना।’

20) और एक ने कहा, "मैंने विवाह किया है, इसलिए मैं नहीं आ सकता’।

21) सेवक ने लौट कर यह सब स्वामी को बता दिया। तब घर के स्वामी ने क्रुद्ध हो कर अपने सेवक से कहा, ’शीघ्र ही नगर के बाज़ारों और गलियों में जा कर कंगालों, लूलों, अन्धों और लँगड़ों को यहाँ बुला लाओ’।

22) जब सेवक ने कहा, ’स्वामी! आपकी आज्ञा का पालन किया गया है; तब भी जगह है’,

23) तो स्वामी ने नौकर से कहा, ’सड़कों पर और बाड़ों के आसपास जा कर लोगों को भीतर आने के लिए बाध्य करो, जिससे मेरा घर भर जाये;

24) क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, उन निमन्त्रित लोगों में कोई भी मेरे भोजन का स्वाद नहीं ले पायेगा’।"

📚 मनन-चिंतन

इस संसार में हमें कई प्रकार के निमंत्रण मिलते हैं चाहे वह किसी के विवाह का निमंत्रण हो या बपतिस्मा समारोह का निमंत्रण, किसी भोज का निमंत्रण हो या घर की आशीष का निमंत्रण, किसी कार्यक्रम का निमंत्रण हो या किसी महोत्सव का निमंत्रण, किसी नौकरी का निमंत्रण या किसी कार्य को करने का निमंत्रण इत्यादि। इन सभी निमंत्रण में जाना या भाग लेना हम प्रत्येक की ईच्छा, स्वतंत्रता तथा समय पर आश्रित रहता है। उस निमंत्रण पर जाना या नहीं जाना पूर्ण रूप से हमारी स्वतंत्र ईच्छा पर निर्भर रहता है। आज के सुसमाचार में भी हम एक निमंत्रण का दृष्टांत सुनते है जिसमें एक मनुष्य ने बडे़ भोज को आयोजित किया और बहुत से लोगों को निमंत्रण दिया। परंतु उन निमंत्रित लोगों ने अपने अपने कार्याें में व्यस्तता बताकर उस निमंत्रण में नहीं जाने का सोचा। तब उस भोज के लिए अन्य लोगों को बुलावा मिला और जो निमंत्रित थे वे उस भोज से वंचित रह जाते है।

ख्रीस्त में विश्वासी भाईयों एवं बहनों प्रभु येसु भी हमें प्रतिदिन निमंत्रण देते है कि हम प्रभु के राज्य में प्रवेश होने के लिए अपने आप को तैयार करते रहें परंतु शायद हम उस निमंत्रण को पहचान नहीं पाते या पहचानते हुए भी ठुकरा देते हैं। प्रभु का निमंत्रण शायद कुछ समय प्रभु के साथ प्रार्थना में बिताना या किसी प्रार्थना सभा में जाना या मिस्सा बलिदान में भाग लेना या किसी की मदद करना या किसी को क्षमा करना या किसी को उधार देना या किसी को प्रोत्साहन करना या किसी से मिठे वचन बोलना इत्यादि कुछ भी हो सकता है जो प्रभु येसु की आज्ञा के अनुरूप है। परंतु हम अपने दैनिक जीवन में क्या प्रभु का निमंत्रण स्वीकार करते है या हम संसारिक व्यसता में खो जाते है और प्रभु का निमंत्रण को अस्वीकार करते है। हमारे लिए सबसे ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण क्या है इस संसार के कार्य या प्रभु येसु का निमंत्रण? अगर हम इस संसार के कार्य को ही ज्यादा महत्व देंगे या बहाने बनायेंगे तो शायद हम प्रभु के उस स्वर्गीय राज्य में भोज करने से वंचित रह जायेंगे और हमारी जगह उनको मिल जायेगी जिनकी आशा नहीं की गई होगी। ख्रीस्तीय होने का लाभ हम सभी को मिला है कि हम सभी को स्वर्ग में प्रवेश मिल सके परंतु अगर हम उस निमंत्रण को अस्वीकार करेंगे या हम उसके लिए प्रयत्न नहीं करेंगे तो हमारे स्थान पर ऐसे व्यक्ति प्रवेश कर जायेंगे जो प्रभु येसु को जानते भी नहीं हैं जिस प्रकार यहुदियो ने प्रभु येसु का निमंत्रण अस्वीकार किया तो वह निमंत्रण सभी गैर ख्रीस्तीयों को मिला। आइये हम प्रार्थना करें कि हम सब प्रभु के निमंत्रण को जाने और उसको निरंतर स्वीकार करते जाये।

📚 REFLECTION

In this world we get different kinds of invitation, it may be a wedding invitation or baptism invitation, any lunch invitation or house blessing invitation, any invitation for program or invitation for feast, job invitation or for the work invitation etc. Whether to go or not to go in all these invitations depend on each individual’s free will, time and situation. In today’s gospel too we see one parable regarding an invitation, where a certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests. But the invited guests showing their busy works fail to go for the invitation. Then the banquet was given to others and those who were invited got deprive of the banquet.

Brothers and sisters in Christ Lord Jesus too invite us everyday to prepare ourselves to enter into the Kingdom of God but sometimes we do not realize that invitation or after realizing also we reject. Invitation of God can be to spend time with God in prayer or to go in any prayer meeting or to participate in the Holy Mass, or to help someone or to forgive someone or to lend some money to someone or to encourage someone or to talk in pleasant manner etc can be the invitation of God for each day which is based on the word of God. Do we participate in the invitation of God or showing our busy schedule we reject God’s invitation?

What is more important for us God’s invitation or the works of the world? If we give more importance or give excuse only for the works of the world then we may also fail to receive the heavenly banquet and instead of us whom we do not expect may receive our place and share. As followers of Christ or being Christian we have received the benefit of entering the heaven but if we reject the invitation or if we do not try our best to make us eligible for the heavenly banquet then instead of us those people will get the place who even do not know Christ Jesus as some Jews rejected the invitation of Jesus so the invitation went to all the non-Jews. Let’s pray that we can recognize God’s invitation and can participate in it by all possible ways. Amen
