First Reading: Isaiah 45: 6c-8, 18, 21c-25

6 That they may know who are from the rising of the sun, and they who are from the west, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none else:

7 I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord that do all these things.

8 Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain the just: let the earth be opened, and bud forth a saviour: and let justice spring up together: I the Lord have created him.

18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens, God himself that formed the earth, and made it, the very maker thereof: he did not create it in vain: he formed it to be inhabited. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

21 Tell ye, and come, and consult together: who hath declared this from the beginning, who hath foretold this from that time? Have not I the Lord, and there is no God else besides me? A just God and a saviour, there is none besides me.

22 Be converted to me, and you shall be saved, all ye ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is no other.

23 I have sworn by myself, the word of justice shall go out of my mouth, and shall not return: For every knee shall be bowed to me, and every tongue shall swear.

24 Therefore shall he say: In the Lord are my justices and empire: they shall come to him, and all that resist him shall be confounded.

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified and praised.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 85: 9ab and 10, 11-12, 13-14

9 I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.

10 Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land.

11 Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.

12 Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.

13 For the Lord will give goodness: and our earth shall yield her fruit.

14 Justice shall walk before him: and shall set his steps in the way.

Gospel: Luke 7: 18b-23

18 And John’s disciples told him of all these things.

19 And John called to him two of his disciples, and sent them to Jesus, saying: Art thou he that art to come; or look we for another?

20 And when the men were come unto him, they said: John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying: Art thou he that art to come; or look we for another?

21 (And in that same hour, he cured many of their diseases, and hurts, and evil spirits: and to many that were blind he gave sight.)

22 And answering, he said to them: Go and relate to John what you have heard and seen: the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are made clean, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, to the poor the gospel is preached:

23 And blessed is he whosoever shall not be scandalized in me.

Aआगमन का तीसरा सप्ताह, बुधवार

📒 पहला पाठ : इसायाह का ग्रन्थ 45:6c-8,21c-25

6) मैं ही प्रभु हूँ, कोई दूसरा नहीं।

7) मैं प्रकाश और अन्धकार, दोनों की सृष्टि करता हूँ। मैं सुख भी देता और दुःख भी भेजता हूँ। मैं, प्रभु, यह सब करता हूँ।

8) आकाश! धार्मिकता बरसाओ- ओस की बूँदों की तरह, बादलों के जल की तरह। धरती खुल कर उसे ग्रहण करे- मुक्ति का अंकुर फूट निकले और धार्मिकता फले-फूले। मैं, प्रभु, ने इसकी सृष्टि की है।

21) मेरे सिवा कोई दूसरा ईश्वर नहीं। मेरे सिवा कोई न्यायी और उद्धारकरर्ता ईश्वर नहीं।

22) पृथ्वी के सीमान्तों से मेरे पास आओ और तुम मुक्ति प्राप्त करोगे, क्योंकि मेरे सिवा कोई ईश्वर नहीं।

23) “मेरे मुख से निकलने वाला शब्द सच्चा और अपरिवर्तनीय है। मैं शपथ खा कर यह कहता हूँ: हर घुटना मेरे सामने झुकेगा, हर कण्ठ मेरे नाम की शपथ लेगा।

24) सब लोग मेरे विषय में कहेंगे- “प्रभु में ही न्याय दिलाने का सामर्थ्य है।“ जो उस से बैर करते थे, वे सब लज्जित हो कर उसके पास आयेंगे।

25) प्रभु इस्राएल की समस्त प्रजा को न्याय दिलायेगा और वह प्रभु का गौरव करेगी।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 21:28-32

18) योहन के शिष्यों ने योहन को इन सब बातों की ख़बर सुनायी।

19) योहन ने अपने दो शिष्यों को बुला कर ईसा के पास यह पूछने भेजा, "क्या आप वही हैं, जो आने वाले हैं या हम किसी और की प्रतीक्षा करें?"

20) इन दो शिष्यों ने ईसा के पास आ कर कहा, "योहन बपतिस्मा ने हमें आपके पास यह पूछने भेजा है-क्या आप वहीं हैं, जो आने वाले हैं या हम किसी और की प्रतीक्षा करें?"

21) उस समय ईसा बहुतों को बीमारियों, कष्टों और अपदूतों से मुक्त कर रहे थे और बहुत-से अन्धों को दृष्टि प्रदान कर रहे थे।

22) उन्होंने योहन के शिष्यों से कहा, "जाओ, तुमने जो सुना और देखा है, उसे योहन को बता दो-अन्धे देखते हैं, लंगड़े चलते हैं, कोढ़ी शुद्ध किये जाते हैं, बहरे सुनते हैं, मुर्दे जिलाये जाते हैं, दरिद्रों को सुसमाचार सुनाया जाता है

23) और धन्य है वह, जिसका, विश्वास मुझ पर से नहीं उठता!"

📚 मनन-चिंतन

नाज़रेत के सभागृह में, प्रभु येसु ने अपना घोषणापत्र नबी इसायाह के अध्याय 61 पढ़ कर प्रस्तुत किया जहाँ लिखा है, “प्रभु का आत्मा मुझ पर छाया रहता है, क्योंकि उसने मेरा अभिशेक किया है। उसने मुझे भेजा है, जिससे मैं दरिद्रों को सुसमाचार सुनाऊँ, बन्दियों को मुक्ति का और अन्धों को दृष्टिदान का सन्देश दूँ, दलितों को स्वतन्त्र करूँ और प्रभु के अनुग्रह का वर्ष घोषित करूँ।" (लूकस 4:18-19)। उसके बाद “धर्मग्रन्थ का यह कथन आज तुम लोगों के सामने पूरा हो गया है” कहकर प्रभु येसु ने स्वयं को मसीह के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया। मसीह के बारे में नबी इसायाह की ये भविष्यवाणियाँ प्रभु के जीवन में पूरी हुईं। इसलिए वे संत योहन बपतिस्ता के शिष्यों से कहते हैं, "जाओ, तुमने जो सुना और देखा है, उसे योहन को बता दो- अन्धे देखते हैं, लंगड़े चलते हैं, कोढ़ी शुद्ध किये जाते हैं, बहरे सुनते हैं, मुर्दे जिलाये जाते हैं, दरिद्रों को सुसमाचार सुनाया जाता है और धन्य है वह, जिसका, विश्वास मुझ पर से नहीं उठता!" दूसरे शब्दों में कहा जाये तो प्रभु मसीहा के रूप में अपनी पहचान को स्पष्ट रूप से प्रकट करते हैं। मेरी पहचान क्या है? क्या मैं अपनी इस पहचान के प्रति वफादार हूं?

📚 REFLECTION

At the Synagogue of Nazareth, Jesus had presented his manifesto by reading from Is 61 where it is written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Lk 4:18-19). By saying “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing”, Jesus showed himself as the Messiah. These prophecies of Prophet Isaiah about the Messiah were fulfilled in the life of Jesus. That is why he could say to the disciples of John the Baptist who came to inquire whether he was the Messiah, “Go back and tell John what you have seen and heard”. In other words, Jesus was faithful to his identity as the Messiah. What is my identity? Am I faithful to my God-given identity?
