First Reading: Isaiah 30: 19-21, 23-26

19 For the people of Sion shall dwell in Jerusalem: weeping thou shalt not weep, he will surely have pity on thee: at the voice of thy cry, as soon as he shall hear, he will answer thee.

20 And the Lord will give you spare bread, and short water: and will not cause thy teacher to flee away from thee any more, and thy eyes shall see thy teacher.

21 And thy ears shall hear the word of one admonishing thee behind thy back: This is the way, walk ye in it: and go not aside neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

23 And rain shall be given to thy seed, wheresoever thou shalt sow in the land: and the bread of the corn of the land shall be most plentiful, and fat. The lamb in that day shall feed at large in thy possession:

24 And thy oxen, and the ass colts that till the ground, shall eat mingled provender as it was winnowed in the floor.

25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every elevated hill rivers of running waters in the day of the slaughter of many, when the tower shall fall.

26 And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days: in the day when the Lord shall bind up the wound of his people, and shall heal the stroke of their wound.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 147: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6

1 Praise ye the Lord, because psalm is good: to our God be joyful and comely praise.

2 The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: he will gather together the dispersed of Israel.

3 Who healeth the broken of heart, and bindeth up their bruises.

4 Who telleth the number of the stars: and calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and great is his power: and of his wisdom there is no number.

6 The Lord lifteth up the meek, and bringeth the wicked down even to the ground.

Gospel: Matthew 9: 35 – 10: 1, 5a, 6-8

35 And Jesus went about all the cities, and towns, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease, and every infirmity.

36 And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.

37 Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few.

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest.

10:1 And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of diseases, and all manner of infirmities.

5 These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.

6 But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give.

आगमन का पहला सप्ताह, शनिवार

📒 पहला पाठ: इसायाह का ग्रन्थ 30:19-21.23-26

19) येरुसालेम में रहने वाली सियोन की प्रजा! अब से तुम लोगों को रोना नहीं पड़ेगा। प्रभु तुम पर अवश्य दया करेगा, वह तुम्हारी दुहाई सुनते ही तुम्हारी सहायता करेगा।

20) प्रभु ने तुम्हें विपत्ति की रोटी खिलायी और दुःख का जल पिलाया है; किन्तु अब तुम्हें शिक्षा प्रदान करने वाला प्रभु अदृश्य नहीं रहेगा- तुम अपनी आँखों से उसके दर्शन करोगे।

21) यदि तुम सन्मार्ग से दायें या बायें भटक जाओगे, तो तुम पीछे से यह वाणी अपने कानों से सुनोगे-“सच्चा मार्ग यह है; इसी पर चलते रहो“।

23) प्रभु तुम्हारे बोये हुये बीजों को वर्षा प्रदान करेगा और तुम अपने खेतों की भरपूर उपज से पुष्टिदायक रोटी खाओगे। उस दिन तुम्हारे चैपाये विशाल चारागाहों में चरेंगे।

24) खेत में काम करने वाले बैल और गधे, सूप और डलिया से फटकी हुई, नमक मिली हुई भूसी खयेंगे।

25) महावध के दिन, जब गढ़ तोड़ दिये जायेंगे, तो हर एक उत्तंुग पर्वत और हर एक ऊँची पहाड़ी से उमड़ती हुई जलधाराएँ फूट निकलेंगी।

26) जिस दिन प्रभु अपनी प्रजा के टूटे हुए अंगों पर पट्टी बाँधेगा और उसकी चोटों के घावों को चंगा करेगा, उस दिन चन्द्रमा का प्रकाश सूर्य की तरह होगा और सूर्य का प्रकाश- सात दिनों के सम्मिलित प्रकाश के सदृश-सतगुना प्रचण्ड हो उठेगा।

📙 सुसमाचार : सन्त मत्ती 9:35-10:1.5a.6-8

35) ईसा सभागृहों में शिक्षा देते, राज्य के सुसमाचार का प्रचार करते, हर तरह की बीमारी और दुबर्लता दूर करते हुए, सब नगरों और गाँवों में घूमते थे।

36) लोगों को देखकर ईसा को उन पर तरस आया, क्योंकि वे बिना चरवाहे की भेड़ों की तरह थके माँदे पड़े हुए थे।

37) उन्होंने अपने शिष्यों से कहा, ’’फसल तो बहुत है, परन्तु मज़दूर थोड़े हैं।

38) इसलिए फ़सल के स्वामी से विनती करो कि वह अपनी फ़सल काटने के लिए मज़दूरों को भेजे।’’

1) ईसा ने अपने बारह शिष्यों को अपने पास बुला कर उन्हें अशुद्ध आत्माओं को निकालने तथा हर तरह की बीमारी और दुर्बलता दूर करने का अधिकार प्रदान किया।

5) ईसा ने इन बारहों को यह अनुदेश दे कर भेजा,

6) बल्कि इस्राएल के घराने की खोयी हुई भेड़ों के यहाँ जाओ।

7) राह चलते यह उपदेश दिया करो- स्वर्ग का राज्य निकट आ गया है।

8) रोगियों को चंगा करो, मुरदों को जिलाआ, कोढि़यों को शुद्ध करो, नरकदूतों को निकालो। तुम्हें मुफ़्त में मिला है, मुफ़्त में दे दो।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

प्रेरित वे हैं जो शिष्यों में से चुने जाते हैं और एक मिशन पर भेजे जाते हैं। येसु ने कई लोगों को उनका अनुसरण करने के लिए बुलाया और उनमें से उन्होंने कुछ लोगों को 'प्रेरित' नाम दे कर एक मिशन पर भेजा। प्रेरित एक दूत या सन्देशवाहक होता है। वह येसु के संदेश को वहन करता है। प्रेरितों को ज्ञान, अधिकार और पवित्र आत्मा की आवश्यकता है। प्रभु येसु अपने प्रेरितों को शिक्षा देते थे। वे भीड़ को जितना सिखाते थे, उससे कहीं ज्यादा उन्हें सिखाते थे। उन्होंने उन्हें दृष्टान्तों के छिपे अर्थ को समझाया। उन्होंने अनकी व्यक्त और अव्यक्त शंकाओं को संबोधित किया तथा स्पष्टीकरण दिया। अपने सार्वजनिक जीवन के दौरान, प्रेरित हमेशा उनके साथ थे और उन्होंने जो कुछ सुना और देखा, उससे वे सीखते रहे। उन्होंने उन्हें कबूतर के समान निर्दोष और साँप के समान विवेकपूर्ण बनने की सलाह दी। उन्होंने उनके डर और चिंताओं को दूर करने की कोशिश की। उन्होंने उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा की प्रतीक्षा करने के लिए कहा। इस प्रकार प्रेरित एक ऐसे व्यक्ति के रूप में बाहर जाता है जिसे अच्छी तरह से निर्देश दिया जाता है, अधिकृत और सशक्त बनाया जाता है।

📚 REFLECTION

The Apostles are those chosen from disciples and sent on a mission. Jesus called many to follow him and from among them he named some of them ‘apostles’ to be sent out on a mission. An apostle is a messenger or an envoy. He carries the message of Jesus. The apostles need to possess knowledge, authority and the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught his apostles. He used to teach them much more than what he taught the crowds. He explained to them the hidden meaning of the parables and his parabolic actions. He addressed their expressed and unexpressed doubts. During his public life, the apostles were always with him and they kept learning from what they heard and witnessed. He advised them to be innocent as doves and prudent as serpents. He tried to dispel their fears and anxieties. He told them to await the Holy Spirit, the power from on high. Thus an apostle goes out as one who is well instructed, authorized and empowered.
