6 But now he hath obtained a better ministry, by how much also he is a mediator of a better testament, which is established on better promises.

7 For if that former had been faultless, there should not indeed a place have been sought for a second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith: Behold, the days shall come, saith the Lord: and I will perfect unto the house of Israel, and unto the house of Juda, a new testament:

9 Not according to the testament which I made to their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt: because they continued not in my testament: and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind, and in their heart will I write them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me from the least to the greatest of them:

12 Because I will be merciful to their iniquities, and their sins I will remember no more.

13 Now in saying a new, he hath made the former old. And that which decayeth and groweth old, is near its end.

8 shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.

10 Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land.

पहला पाठ : इब्रानियो 8:6-13

6) अब, जो धर्मसेवा मसीह को मिली है, वह कहीं अधिक ऊँची है; क्योंकि वे एक ऐसे विधान के मध्यस्थ हैं; जो श्रेष्ठतर है और श्रेष्ठतर प्रतिज्ञाओं पर आधारित हैं।

7) यदि पहला विधान परिपूर्ण होता, तो उसके स्थान पर दूसरे की क्या आवश्यकता थी?

8) ईश्वर उन लागों की निन्दा करते हुए कहता है- प्रभु यह कहता हैः वे दिन आ रहे हैं, जब मैं इस्राएल के घराने के लिए और यूदा के घराने के लिए एक नया विधान निर्धारित करूँगा।

9) यह उस विधान की तरह नहीं होगा, जिसे मैंने उनके पूर्वजों के लिए उस समय निर्धारित किया था, जब मैंने उन्हें मिस्र से निकालने के लिए उनके हाथ थामे थे।

10) प्रभु यह कहता है: उन्होंने मेरे विधान का पालन नहीं किया, इसलिए मैंने भी उनकी सुध नहीं ली। प्रभु यह कहता है: वह समय बीत जाने के बाद मैं इस्राएल के लिए यह विधान निर्धारित करूँगा - मैं अपने नियम उनके मन में रख दूँगा, मैं उनके हृदय पर अंकित करूँगा। मैं उनका ईश्वर होऊँगा और वे मेरी प्रजा होंगे।

11) इसकी ज़रूरत नहीं रहेगी कि वे एक दूसरे को शिक्षा दें और अपने भाइयों से कहें, ’प्रभु का ज्ञान प्राप्त कीजिए’; क्योंकि छोटे और बड़े, सब-के-सब मुझे जानेंगे।

12) मैं उनके अपराध क्षमा कर दूँगा और उनके पापों को याद भी नहीं रखूँगा।

13) ईश्वर इस विधान को ’नया’ कह कर पुकारता है, इसलिए उसने पहला विधान रद्द कर दिया है। जो पुराना और जराग्रस्त हो गया है, वह लुप्त होने को है।

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 3:13-19

13) ईसा पहाड़ी पर चढ़े। वे जिन को चाहते थे, उन को उन्होंने अपने पास बुला लिया। वे उनके पास आये

14 (14-15) और ईसा ने उन में से बारह को नियुक्त किया, जिससे वे लोग उनके साथ रहें और वह उन्हें अपदूतों को निकालने का अधिकार दे कर सुसमाचार का प्रचार करने भेज सकें।

16) ईसा ने इन बारहों को नियुक्त किया- सिमोन को, जिसका नाम उन्होंने पेत्रुस रखा;

17) ज़ेबेदी के पुत्र याकूब और उसके भाई योहन को, जिनका नाम उन्होंने बोआनेर्गेस अर्थात् गर्जन के पुत्र रखा;

18) अन्दे्रयस, फिलिप, बरथोलोमी, मत्ती, थोमस, अलफ़ाई के पुत्र याकूब, थद्देयुस और सिमोन को, जो उत्साही कहलाता है;

19) और यदूस इसकारियोती को, जिसने ईसा को पकड़वाया।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज हम इस पर मनन-चिंतन करते हैं कि किस तरह प्रभु येसु पर्वत पर जाते हैं और शिष्यों का चुनाव करते हैं ताकि वे उनके साथ रहें और उनके मिशन कार्य को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए दूर-दूर जाएँ। जब हम चुने हुए इन शिष्यों को देखते हैं तो पाते हैं कि प्रभु येसु के शिष्य बनने के लिए कोई विशेष योग्यता अथवा गुण की आवश्यकता नहीं थी। इसका मतलब यह है कि ईश्वर किसी ख़ास व्यक्ति को नहीं बुलाते। उनका बुलावा सभी तरह के लोगों के लिए है, चाहे आप किसी भी समाज, वर्ग, जाति आदि से हो, ईश्वर बिना किसी भेड़-भाव के सबको बुलाते हैं, क्योंकि वह अयोग्य व्यक्ति को चुनकर योग्य बनाते हैं।

ईश्वर सबको बुलाते हैं, लेकिन किसलिए? वह अपने शिष्यों को उनके साथ रहने और दुनिया के कोने-कोने में भेजे जाने के लिए बुलाते हैं। यही दो कारण हैं। जब हम उनके साथ रहते हैं तो उन्हें गहराई से जान जाते हैं, हमारे लिए उनकी योजना को हम समझ लेंगे, इस दुनिया में आने के हमारे मक़सद को हम समझ पाएँगे। जब हम ईश्वर के अनुग्रह और प्रेम से भर जाते हैं तो उसे हमें दूसरों के साथ भी बाँटना है। ईश्वर के द्वारा बुलाया जाना और फिर भेजा जाना एक दूसरे के अभिन्न अंग हैं। क्या मैं प्रभु येसु के बुलावे को स्वीकार करने के लिए तैयार हूँ?

📚 REFLECTION

In today's gospel we see Jesus going on the mountain and calling and choosing those whom he wanted, to be with him and to be sent out to continue his mission. When we see and reflect on the names of these chosen ones, we find that perhaps there was no fixed criteria for Jesus, as to whom he should choose, or who is eligible and worthy to be his disciple. It shows that there is no fixed category of people that God calls. His invitation is open for all, whether you belong to any category, any caste, race, creed, society, you are suitable to be called by him, because he doesn't see any qualification, but grants qualification after calling.

All are given an invitation by God, and chosen, but for what? He calls his disciples to be with him and to be sent out to the world. These are the only two reasons – he calls us so that we can be with him, and we can be sent out. When we are with Jesus, we will know him deeply, we will understand his plan for us, we will understand the real purpose of our coming into this world. Once we are filled with his love and grace, we are called to share the same with others. Being called and then being sent out are complimentary to each other. Do I accept the invitation of Jesus?

27 Who needeth not daily (as the other priests) to offer sacrifices first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, in offering himself.

28 For the law maketh men priests, who have infirmity: but the word of the oath, which was since the law, the Son who is perfected for evermore.

8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens,

2 A minister of the holies, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord hath pitched, and not man.

3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that he also should have some thing to offer.

4 If then he were on earth, he would not be a priest: seeing that there would be others to offer gifts according to the law,

5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things. As it was answered to Moses, when he was to finish the tabernacle: See (saith he) that thou make all things according to the pattern which was shewn thee on the mount.

9 And he spoke to his disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he healed many, so that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had evils.

11 And the unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him: and they cried, saying:

12 Thou art the Son of God. And he strictly charged them that they should not make him known.

25) यही कारण है कि जो लोग उनके द्वारा ईश्वर की शरण लेते हैं, वह उन्हें परिपूर्ण मुक्ति दिलाने में समर्थ हैं; क्योंकि वे उनकी ओर से निवेदन करने के लिए सदा जीवित रहते हैं।

26) यह उचित ही था कि हमें इस प्रकार का प्रधानयाजक मिले- पवित्र, निर्दोष, निष्कलंक, पापियों से सर्वथा भिन्न और स्वर्ग से भी ऊँचा।

27) अन्य प्रधानयाजक पहले अपने पापों और बाद में प्रजा के पापों के लिए प्रतिदिन बलिदान चढ़ाया करते हैं। ईसा को इसकी आवश्यकता नहीं होती, क्योंकि उन्होंने यह कार्य एक ही बार में उस समय पूरा कर लिया, जब उन्होंने अपने को बलि चढ़ाया।

28) संहिता जो दुर्बल मनुष्यों को प्रधानयाजक नियुक्त करती है, किन्तु संहिता के समाप्त हो जाने के बाद ईश्वर की शपथ के अनुसार वह पुत्र पुरोहित नियुक्त किया जाता है, जिसे सदा के लिए परिपूर्ण बना दिया है।

8:1) इन बातों का सारांश यह है- हमारा एक ऐसा, प्रधानयाजक है, जो स्वर्ग में महामहिम के सिंहासन की दाहिनी ओर विराजमान हो कर

2) उस वास्तविक मन्दिर तथा तम्बू का सेवक है, जो मनुष्य द्वारा नहीं, बल्कि प्रभु द्वारा संस्थापित है।

3) प्रत्येक प्रधानयाजक भेंट और बलि चढ़ाने के लिए नियुक्त है, इसलिए यह आवश्यक है कि उसके पास चढ़ावे के लिए कुछ हो।

4) यदि ईसा अब तक पृथ्वी पर रहते, तो वे याजक भी नहीं होते; क्योंकि संहिता के अनुसार भेंट चढ़ाने के लिए याजक विद्यमान है,

5) यद्यपि वे एक ऐसे मन्दिर में सेवा करते हैं, जो स्वर्ग की वास्तविकता की प्रतिकृति और छाया मात्र है। यही कारण है कि जब मूसा तम्बू का निर्माण करने वाले थे, तो उन्हें ईश्वर की ओर से यह आदेश मिला-सावधान रहो; जो नमूना तुम्हें पर्वत पर दिखाया गया, उसी के अनुसार तुम सब कुछ बनाओ।

6) अब, जो धर्मसेवा मसीह को मिली है, वह कहीं अधिक ऊँची है; क्योंकि वे एक ऐसे विधान के मध्यस्थ हैं; जो श्रेष्ठतर है और श्रेष्ठतर प्रतिज्ञाओं पर आधारित हैं।

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 3:7-12

7) ईसा अपने शिष्यों के साथ समुद्र के तट गये। गलीलिया का एक विशाल जनसमूह उनके पीछे-पीछे हो लिया। यहूदिया,

8) येरुसालेम, इदूमैया, यर्दन के उस पार, और तीरूस तथा सीदोन के आस-पास से भी बहुत-से लोग उनके पास इकट्ठे हो गये; क्योंकि उन्होंने उनके कार्यों की चर्चा सुनी थी।

9) भीड़ के दबाव से बचने के लिए ईसा ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा कि वे एक नाव तैयार रखें;

10) क्योंकि उन्होंने बहुत-से लोगों को चंगा किया था और रोगी उनका स्पर्श करने के लिए उन पर गिरे पड़ते थे।

11) अशुद्ध आत्मा ईसा को देखते ही दण्डवत् करते और चिल्लाते थे-"आप ईश्वर के पुत्र हैं";

12) किन्तु वह उन्हें यह चेतावनी देते थे कि तुम मुझे व्यक्त मत करो।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज हम एक ऐसे दृश्य को देखते हैं जहाँ जगह-जगह से हर तरह के लोग प्रभु येसु के पास आते हैं। जिसने भी प्रभु येसु की शिक्षाओं के बारे या उनके चमत्कारों के बारे में, विशेष रूप से चंगाई प्रदान करने के बारे में सुना, वे सब के सब अपनी बीमारियों से चंगाई पाने के लिए प्रभु येसु की ओर खिंचे चले आते हैं। इतने सारे लोग उन्हें छूना चाहते थे, की वे अपने शिष्यों से नाव तैयार रखने के लिए कहते हैं ताकि वे नाव पर चढ़कर लोगों को शिक्षा दे सकें और कहीं भीड़ उन्हें कुचल ना दे। ज़िंदगी के हर क्षेत्र से लोग उनके पास आते थे, धनवान, दरिद्र, खुश दिखाई देने वाले लोग, दुखी लोग, आस-पास के लोग और दूर-दूर के सब तरह के लोग उनके पास आते थे। उनके पास इतने सारे लोग क्यों खिंचे चले आते थे?

कोई भी ऐसा व्यक्ति नहीं है जो पूर्णतः खुश एवं संतुष्ट है, सभी में कुछ ना कुछ कमी, दुखी होने का कुछ न कुछ कारण ज़रूर होता है। हो सकता है हमारे जीवन में ऐसा दुःख, कष्ट हो जो हमें व्यथित कर देता है, ऐसी चिन्ताएँ जो हमें हाल ढूँढने पर मजबूर कर देती हैं। ईश्वर के पास आ जाना ही एकमात्र हल है, जब हमारी परेशानियाँ और समस्याएँ हमें बेचैन कर देती हैं तो हमें ईश्वर की ओर मुड़ना है, और वह हमें हमारे दुःख-संकटों से निजात और हमारी आत्मा और हृदय को शान्ति प्रदान करेगा। आमेन।

📚 REFLECTION

Today we see a picture where all sorts of people are coming to Jesus, from all over the places. Whoever heard about Jesus, and his teachings and miracles, especially about healing miracles, they all came to him to get healed of their sicknesses. So many people came to him and wanted to touch him that he told his disciples to keep a boat ready for him so that he could teach them from boat safely, or else crowds may crush him. There were people from all the walks of life, rich people, poor people, seemingly happy people, sad people, people from nearby places and people from far and wide places. Why so large number of people came to him?

Nobody is hundred percent happy and satisfied, no one is complete, there is always something lacking, there is always some cause of not being happy. And there may be a loss, suffering in life that makes us restless, there may be sickness, worries that force us to seek a solution. Coming to God is the only solution, when we become restless with our day to day life problems we need to come back to God, and he will give us healing and rest to our heart and souls. Amen.

3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but likened unto the Son of God, continueth a priest for ever.

15 And it is yet far more evident: if according to the similitude of Melchisedech there ariseth another priest,

16 Who is made not according to the law of a carnal commandment, but according to the power of an indissoluble life:

17 For he testifieth: Thou art a priest for ever, according to the order of Melchisedech.

पहला पाठ : इब्रानियो 7:1-3,15,17

1) जब इब्राहीम राजाओं को हरा कर लौट रहे थे, तो सालेम के राजा और सर्वोच्च ईश्वर के पुरोहित वही मेलखि़सेदेक उन से मिलने आये और उन्होंने इब्राहीम को आशीर्वाद दिया।

2) इब्राहीम ने उन्हें सब चीज़ों का दशमांश दिया। मेलखि़सेदेक का अर्थ है -धार्मिकता का राजा। वह सालेम के राजा भी है, जिसका अर्थ है- शान्ति के राजा।

3) उनके न तो पिता है, न माता और न कोई वंशावली। उनके जीवन का न तो आरम्भ है और न अन्त। वह ईश्वर के पुत्र के सदृश हैं और वह सदा पुरोहित बने रहते हैं।

15) यह सब और भी स्पष्ट हो जाता है, यदि हम इस पर विचार करें कि एक अन्य पुरोहित प्रकट हुआ, जो मेलखि़सेदेक के सदृश है,

17) उसके विषय में धर्मग्रन्थ यह साक्ष्य देता है - तुम मेलखि़सेदेक की तरह सदा पुरोहित बने रहोगे।

सुसमाचार : मारकुस 3:1-6

1) ईसा फिर सभागृह गये। वहाँ एक मनुष्य था, जिसका हाथ सूख गया था।

2) वे इस बात की ताक में थे कि ईसा कहीं विश्राम के दिन उसे चंगा करें, और वे उन पर दोष लगायें।

3) ईसा ने सूखे हाथ वाले से कहा, "बीच में खड़े हो जाओ"।

4) तब ईसा ने उन से पूछा, "विश्राम के दिन भलाई करना उचित है या बुराई, जान बचाना या मार डालना?" वे मौन रहे।

5) उनके हृदय की कठोरता देख कर ईसा को दुःख हुआ और वह उन पर क्रोधभरी दृष्टि दौड़ा कर उस मनुष्य से बोले, "अपना हाथ बढ़ाओ"। उसने ऐसा किया और उसका हाथ अच्छा हो गया।

6) इस पर फ़रीसी बाहर निकल कर तुरन्त हेरोदियों के साथ ईसा के विरुद्ध परामर्श करने लगे कि हम किस तरह उनका सर्वनाश करें।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

कलीसिया का संचालन एक क़ानून के अनुसार होता है जिसका नाम है कैनन लॉ। इस क़ानून में सारे नियमों का विवरण देने के बाद अंतिम अनुच्छेद में संकेत किया गया है कि ‘आत्माओं की मुक्ति, जो कलीसिया का सर्वोच्च क़ानून है, सभी को सदा याद रखना है।’ जिसका अर्थ है कि किसी भी नियम-क़ानून का वास्तविक उद्देश्य जीवन की रक्षा और मानव मूल्यों को बढ़ावा देना है। मानव जीवन एवं मानव मूल्य किसी भी नियम-क़ानून से बढ़कर हैं। लेकिन कुछ लोग नियमों एवं क़ानूनों के वास्तविक उद्देश्यों को भूल जाते हैं और उन्हें निर्दोषों को फँसाने या बेवजह परेशान करने का ज़रिया बना लेते हैं। क़ानून के रखवाले ही कभी-कभी क़ानून को दूसरों के लीए बोझ बना देते और उन्हें डराने-धमकाने के लिए हथियार के रूप में इस्तेमाल करते हैं।

आज फरीसियों के साथ-साथ हमें भी प्रभु येसु याद दिलाते हैं कि नियम मनुष्यों की भलाई के लिये बने हैं। और सबसे बड़ा नियम जिसका सभी को पालन करना है, वह है अपने ईश्वर और पड़ौसी को प्यार करने का नियम। यदि हम इस नियम का पालन करते हैं तो सबका भला होगा और हम ईश्वर के प्रति वफ़ादार बनेंगे। यदि कोई नियम लोगों का भला नहीं करता, ऐसा नियम व्यर्थ है। यदि कोई नियम जीवन की रक्षा की बजाय उसका विनाश करता है तो ऐसे नियम से छुटकारा पा लेना ही बेहतर है। प्रभु येसु ने सभागृह में उस सूखे हाथ वाले को विश्राम-दिवस के दिन भी चंगा किया क्योंकि उनके लिए मानव जीवन की गरिमा को पुनः बनाने एवं नवजीवन प्रदान करना उनके लिए सर्वोच्च था, वह स्वयं नया नियम स्थापित करते हैं।

📚 REFLECTION

The church is governed by a set of laws known as the code of Canon Law. After giving all the laws about various aspects of the life of the church, the last canon hints that ‘salvation of souls which must always be the supreme law in the church, is to be kept before one's eyes.’ Meaning any rules or regulations and laws that we make, their ultimate end should be to preserve the sanctity of life, human life and values are above every rule and laws. But some people forget the real purpose of laws and rules and use them to trap and condemn people. The keepers of the law sometimes make it a burden and terror weapon for the ordinary people.

Today through Pharisees, Jesus reminds us that the laws are for the good of the people. The only supreme law that all should follow is the law of loving God and neighbour. When we do so we will do good to all and obey God in everything. If the law does not focus on doing good, then such law is useless. If a law instead of saving life, destroys it, then better to get rid of such a law. Jesus healed the person with withered hand in the synagogue because for him restoring human life and well-being was above every law, he himself becomes the new law.

First Reading: Hebrews 6: 10-20

10 For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.

11 And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end:

12 That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.

13 For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,

14 Saying: Unless blessing I shall bless thee, and multiplying I shall multiply thee.

15 And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.

16 For men swear by one greater than themselves: and an oath for confirmation is the end of all their controversy.

17 Wherein God, meaning more abundantly to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.

19 Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil;

20 Where the forerunner Jesus is entered for us, made a high priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.
