चालीसे का पांचवां सप्ताह

पहला पाठ : यिरमियाह का ग्रन्थ 20:10-13

10) मैंने बहुतों को यह फुसफुसाते हुए सुना है- “चारों ओर आतंक फैला हुआ हैं। उस पर अभियोग लगाओ! हम उस पर अभियोग लगायें“। जो पहले मेरे मित्र थे, वे सब इस ताक में रहते हैं कि मैं कोई ग़लती कर बैठूँ और कहते हैं, “वह शायद भटक जायेगा और हम उस पर हावी हो कर उस से बदला लेंगे''।

11) परन्तु प्रभु एक पराक्रमी शूरवीर की तरह मेरे साथ हैं। मेरे विरोधी ठोकर खा कर गिर जायेंगे। वे मुझ पर हावी नहीं हो पायेंगे और अपनी हार का कटु अनुभव करेंगे। उनका अपयश सदा बना रहेगा।

12) विश्वमण्डल के प्रभु! तू धर्मी की परीक्षा करता और मन तथा हृदय की थाह लेता है। मैं अपने को तुझ पर छोड़ता हूँ। मैं दूखूँगा कि तू उन लोगों से क्या बदला लेता है।

13) प्रभु का गीत गाओ! प्रभु की स्तुति करो! क्योंकि वह दरिद्रों के प्राणों को दुष्टों के हाथ से छुडाता है।

सुसमाचार : सन्त योहन का सुसमाचार 10:31-42

31) यहँदियों ने ईसा को मार डालने के लिये फिर पत्थर उठाये।

32) ईसा ने उन से कहा, मैनें अपने पिता के सामर्थ्य से तुम लोगों के सामने बहुत से अच्छे कार्य किये हैं। उन में किस कार्य के लिये मुझे पत्थरों से मार डालना चाहते हो?

33) यहूदियों ने उत्तर दिया, किसी अच्छे कार्य के लिये नहीं, बल्कि ईश-निन्दा के लिये हम तुम को पत्थरों से मार डालना चाहते हैं क्योंकि तुम मनुष्य होकर अपने को ईश्वर मानते हो।

34) ईसा ने कहा, ’’क्या तुम लोगो की संहिता में यह नहीं लिखा है, मैने कहा तुम देवता हो?

35) जिन को ईश्वर का संदेश दिया गया था, यदि संहिता ने उन को देवता कहा- और धर्मग्रंथ की बात टल नहीं सकती-

36) तो जिसे पिता ने अधिकार प्रदान कर संसार में भेजा है, उस से तुम लोग यह कैसे कहते हो- तुम ईश-निन्दा करते हो; क्योंकि मैने कहा, मैं ईश्वर का पुत्र हूँ?

37) यदि मैं अपने पिता के कार्य नहीं करता, तो मुझ पर विश्वास न करो।

38) किन्तु यदि मैं उन्हें करता हूँँ, तो मुझ पर विश्वास नहीं करने पर भी तुम कार्यों पर ही विश्वास करो, जिससे तुम यह जान जाओ और समझ लो कि पिता मुझ में है और मैं पिता में हूँ।’’

39) इस पर उन्होंने फिर ईसा को गिरफ़्तार करने का प्रयत्न किया, परन्तु वे उनके हाथ से निकल गये।

40) ईसा यर्दन के पार उस जगह लौट गये, जहाँ पहले योहन बपतिस्मा दिया करता था, और वहीं रहने लगे।

41) बहुत-से लोग उनके पास आये। वे कहते थे, योहन ने तो कोई चमत्कार नहीं दिखाया, परंतु उसने इनके विषय में जो कुछ कहा, वह सब सच निकला।

42) और वहाँ बहुत से लोगों ने उन में विश्वास किया।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज के दोनों पाठों में हम देखते है कि यिरमियाह ईश्वर की वाणी सुनाने के कारण, सच बोलने के कारण उनको विरोध का सामना करना पडता है। और सुसमाचार में येसु पिता की वाणी सुनाने के कारण और पिता के साथ उनके संबध के बारे में बोलने के कारण विरोध का सामना करना पडता है। लेकिन वे सच्चाई से पीछे नहीं हटते।

लोग शुरूवात में येसु को समझ नहीं पाये। क्योंकि लोगों ने सोचा कि येसु एक नबी है। संत मत्ती 16ः13से हम पढते है ईसा ने शिष्यों से पूछा, मानव पुत्र कौन है, इस विषय में लोग क्या कहते हैं? उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, कुछ लोग कहते हैं योहन बपतिस्ता; कुछ कहते हैं-एलियस; और कुछ लोग कहते हैं-येेरेमियस अथवा नबियों में से कोई। इसलिए यहूदियों ने येसु से कहा तुम ईश निन्दा कर रहे हो क्योंकि तुम मनुष्य हो कर अपने को ईश्वर मानते हो। हॉ यह सही है उस समय लोग येसु को सही रूप में समझ नहीं पाये। येसु ईश्वर के एकलौते पुत्र है इसलिए येसु स्वयं ईश्वर है। संत योहत अपने सुसमाचार ये सच्चाई बताते हुए शुरू करते है 1ः1- आदि में शब्द था, शब्द ईश्वर के साथ था और शब्द ईश्वर था। संत पौलूस येसु के बारे में कहते है फिलिप्पियों 2ः6-7 वह वास्तव में ईश्वर थे और उन को पूरा अधिकार था कि वह ईश्वर की बराबरी करें, फिर भी उन्होंने दास का रूप धारण कर तथा मनुष्यों के समान बन कर अपने को दीन हीन बना लिया।

येसु ने अपने शिष्यों से पूछा तूम क्या कहते हो कि मैं कौन हॅू? पेत्रुस ने कहाः आप मसीह है, आप जीवन्त ईश्वर के पुत्र है। आईए इस चालिसा काल में येसु को और गहराई में जानने कि कोशीष करें और उनके साथ गहरा संबध रखें। हमारे लिए संत पौलूस की प्रार्थना यह हैं एफेसियों 3ः17-18 कि विश्वास द्वारा मसीह आपके ह्रदयों में निवास करें, प्रेम में आपकी जडें गहरी हों और नींव सुदृढ़ हो। इस तरह, आप लोग अन्य सभी सन्तों के साथ मसीह के प्रेम की लम्बाई, चौडाई, ऊॅचाई और गहराई समझ सकेंगे।

📚 REFLECTION

In today’s both the readings we have the same theme that Jeremiah faces opposition for having proclaimed the word of God, having proclaimed the truth. In the Gospel also we have the same thing that Jesus having proclaimed the truth about him, he faces opposition. However they remain for the truth.

The Jews could not understand Jesus in the beginning. Because the Jews though Jesus was a prophet. Mt 16:13-14 Jesus asked his disciples: who do people say that the Son of Man is? And they said “Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” Therefore the Jews said to Jesus that he is blaspheming, because he being a human claiming to be God. Jesus was speaking the truth but the people could not grasp it.

Jesus being the only Son of the Father is God himself. St. John begins his gospel with this 1:1 in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the word was God. St. Paul says the same in Philip 2:6-7 though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness and being found in human form, he humbled himself.

Jesus asked his disciples that what do you say about me? And Peter said that you are the Christ the Son of the living God. Dear friends, come during this season of lent let us make effort to know Jesus more and more and make our relationship with him deeper. St. Paul’s prayer for us is that Eph 3:17-18 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ.

मनन-चिंतन-2

जब ईसा गलीलिया में घूम-घूमकर लोगों को उपदेश देते थे, विभिन्न चमत्कार करते थे, तो बहुत सारे लोग आश्चर्य में पड़ जाते थे और सब के मन में यही प्रश्न होता था कि यह कौन है? (मारकुस 4:41 लूकस 4:22) इस प्रकार का प्रश्न पिलातुस के मन में भी था इसलिए वह सत्य को जानना चाहता था (देखिए योहन18:38)। प्रभु येसु ने संत योहन के सुसमाचार के द्वारा अपने विषय में कई सारी बातें इस विषय में बताई है कि वे कौन हैं। वे कहते हैं, ’’जीवन की रोटी मैं हूँ’’, ‘‘संसार की ज्योति मैं हूँ’’, ‘‘पुनरूत्थान और जीवन मैं हूँ,’’ ’’मार्ग, सत्य और जीवन मैं हूँ,’’ ’’मैं दाखलता हूँ,’’ और ’’भला गडेरिया मैं हूँ,’’। आज का सुसमाचार हमें चरवाहा और भेड़ों के बीच के रिश्ते पर मनन चिंतन करने के लिए आह्वान करता है।

प्रभु येसु संत योहन के सुसमाचार 10:11 में कहते हैं कि भला गडेरिया मैं हूँ। भले गडेरिये के कुछ गुण होते हैं जैसे- भला गडेरिया अपनी भेड़ों के लिए अपने प्राण दे देता है, अपने भेड़ों को जानता है, भेड़ों को हरे मैदानों में बैठाता और शांत जल के पास ले जा कर उनमें नवजीवन का संचार करता है। भला चरवाहा एक भेड़ के भटक जाने पर निन्यानवे भेडों को छोड़ उस भटकी हुई भेड़ को खोजने जाता है। ये सब गुण हम प्रभु येसु के जीवन में पाते हैं। प्रभु येसु सचमुच में भले गडेरिये है जो अपनी भेड़ों के लिए अपने प्राण अर्पित करते है। वे भटकी हुई भेड़ की खोज में जाते है। प्रभु ने अपने जीवन के द्वारा यह सिद्ध किया कि वे सचमुच में भले गडेरिया है।

लेकिन आज का सुसमाचार भले गडेरिये के ऊपर नहीं परन्तु भली भेड़ के ऊपर है। आज हम सब के लिए बड़ा प्रश्न यह है कि प्रभु येसु तो सचमुच में भले गडेरिये हैं परंतु क्या हम उस भले गडेरिये की भली भेड़ें हैं। वे हम सभी भेड़ों को नाम से जानते हैं और सदा हमें अपने पास बुलाते हैं, पर क्या हम भली भेड़ के समान अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं?

भली भेड़ या सच्ची भेड़ का चिन्ह क्या है? आज का सुसमाचार के अनुसार सच्ची भेड़ भले चरवाहे की आवाज़ पहचानती है तथा उनका अनुसरण करती है। प्रभु येसु या ईश्वर की आवाज़ पहचानना एक सच्ची भेड़ की अहम निशानी है। बाइबिल में हम देखते हैं कि कौन-कौन ईश्वर की आवाज़ पहचानता एवं सुनता था।

बाइबिल में हम नूह, इब्राहिम, इसहाक, याकूब, युसूफ, मूसा, योशुआ, कई न्यायकर्ताओं, कई नबियों को जानते हैं जो ईश्वर की आवाज़ सुनते और उनका अनुसरण करते थे। हम अपने जीवन में किसकी आवाज़ बहुत अच्छी से पहचानते है? जाहिर सी बात है कि हम अपने जीवन में अपने माता-पिता या परिवार वालों की आवाज़ अच्छे से पहचानते हैं। वह किस लिए? क्योंकि हम अपना ज्यादातार समय अपने परिवार के साथ बिताते हैं तथा उनकी आवाज़ को सुनते रहते हैं। इसी तरह हम किसी व्यक्ति को पंसद करते हैं तथा रोजाना उससे बात करते हैं - आमने सामने या मोबाईल पर - तब हम उसकी आवाज़ को पहचानने लगेंगे। अर्थात् जितना ज्यादा सम्पर्क हम किसी भी व्यक्ति से बनाते हैं - चाहे वह परिवार का हो या परिवार से दूर का हो - उतना ज्यादा हम उसकी आवाज़ को पहचानते हैं। इसलिए अगर वे किसी अन्जान नम्बर से फोन करेंगे तब भी हम उनकी आवाज़ पहचान जायेंगें। आज के इस आधुनिक युग में क्या हम येसु की आवाज़ पहचानते हैं? येसु की आवाज़ कौन पहचान पायेगा? वही जो येसु के साथ ज्यादा सम्पर्क में रहा है। येसु के साथ सम्पर्क में रहने का तात्पर्य है उसके साथ प्रार्थना में जुडे रहना, रोजाना प्रार्थना करना, बाइबिल पठन करना, वचनों पर मनन चिंतन करना, यूखारिस्त में भाग लेना। इन सबके द्वारा हम येसु के सम्पर्क में बने रहते हैं। और जितना ज्यादा हम उनसे जुड़े रहेंगे उतने स्पष्ट रूप से हम येसु की आवाज़ सुन पायेंगे और पहचान पायेंगे।

येसु की आवाज़ सुनना ही काफी नहीं परन्तु उनका अनुसरण करना ही हमें स्च्ची भेड़ होने का दर्जा देता है। हम प्रभु की आवाज़ बाइबिल से, पवित्र आत्मा से, अभिषिक्त पुरोहितों से, प्रार्थनामय इंसान से सुन सकते हैं। परंतु उनका पालन करना या न करना हम पर निर्भर करता हैं। प्रभु कहते हैं कि जो मेरा अनुसरण करना चाहता है वह आत्मत्याग करे, अपना क्रूस उठायें और मेरे पीछे हो ले। प्रभु की वाणी के अनुसार चलने के लिए हमें सर्वप्रथम आत्मत्याग की जरूरत है। जब तक हम अपने शरीर की इच्छाओं का दमन नहीं करेंगे तब तक हम आत्मा के अनुसार नही चल पायेंगे क्योंकि ‘‘आत्मा और शरीर एक दूसरे के विरोधी है’’ (गलातियों 5:17)। इसलिए हमें हमेशा प्रार्थना करते रहना चाहिए क्योंकि आत्मा तो तत्पर है परन्तु शरीर दुर्बल है (देखिए मारकुस 14:38)। हम सब प्रभु की सच्ची भेड़ बनने के लिए बुलाये गये हैं। प्रभु कहते हैं, ‘‘मैं द्वार के सामने खड़ा हो कर खटखटाता हूँ। यदि कोई मेरी वाणी सुन कर द्वार खोलेगा, तो मैं उसके यहाँ आ कर उसके साथ भोजन करूँगा और वह मेरे साथ’’ (प्रकाशना 3:20)। आज हम सब को उनकी आवाज़ पहचानते हुए उनका अनुसरण करने की जरूरत हैं जिससे हम उनके सच्चे शिष्य, सच्ची भेड़ सिद्ध हो जाएँ। ’’यदि तुम मेरी शिक्षा पर दृढ़ रहोगे, तो सचमुच मेरे शिष्य सिद्ध होगे’’ (योहन 8:31)

10 And the Lord spoke again to Achaz, saying:

11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God either unto the depth of hell, or unto the height above.

12 And Achaz said: I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.

13 And he said: Hear ye therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.

8:10 Take counsel together, and it shall be defeated: speak a word, and it shall not be done: because God is with us.

6 Holocausts for sin did not please thee.

7 Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God.

8 In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.

9 Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.

10 In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.

Gospel: Luke 1: 26-38

28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.

31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.

33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34 And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man?

प्रभु के शरीरधारण का सन्देश - समारोह

पहला पाठ : इसायाह 7:10-14;8:10

7:10) प्रभु ने फिर आहाज़ से यह कहा,

11) “चाहे अधोलोक की गहराई से हो, चाहे आकाश की ऊँचाई से, अपने प्रभु-ईश्वर से अपने लिए एक चिन्ह माँगो“।

12) आहाज़ ने उत्तर दिया, “जी नहीं! मैं प्रभु की परीक्षा नहीं लूँगा।“

13) इस पर उसने कहा, “दाऊद के वंश! मेरी बात सुनो। क्या मनुष्यों को तंग करना तुम्हारे लिए पर्याप्त नहीं है, जो तुम ईश्वर के धैर्य की भी परीक्षा लेना चाहते हो?

14) प्रभु स्वयं तुम्हें एक चिन्ह देगा और वह यह है - एक कुँवारी गर्भवती है। वह एक पुत्र को प्रसव करेगी और वह उसका नाम इम्मानूएल रखेगी।

8:10) योजना बनाओ - वह असफ़ल होगी; विचार - विमर्श करो - वह व्यर्थ होगा; क्योंकि ईश्वर हमारे साथ है।

दूसरा पाठ : 1 इब्रानियों 10:4-10

4) सांडों तथा बकरों का रक्त पाप नहीं हर सकता,

5) इसलिए मसीह ने संसार में आ कर यह कहा: तूने न तो यज्ञ चाहा और न चढ़ावा, बल्कि तूने मेरे लिए एक शरीर तैयार किया है।

6) तू न तो होम से प्रसन्न हुआ और न प्रायश्चित्त के बलिदान से;

7) इसलिए मैंने कहा - ईश्वर! मैं तेरी इच्छा पूरी करने आया हूँ, जैसा कि धर्मग्रन्थ में मेरे विषय में लिखा हुआ है।

8) मसीह ने पहले कहा, "तूने यज्ञ, चढ़ावा, होम या या प्रायचित्त का बलिदान नहीं चाहा। तू उन से प्रसन्न नहीं हुआ", यद्यपि ये सब संहिता के अनुसार ही चढ़ाये जाते हैं।

9) तब उन्होंने कहा, "देख, मैं तेरी इच्छा पूरी करने आया हूँ"। इस प्रकार वह पहली व्यवस्था को रद्द करते और दूसरी का प्रवर्तन करते हैं।

10) ईसा मसीह के शरीर के एक ही बार बलि चढ़ाये जाने के कारण हम ईश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार पवित्र किये गये हैं।

सुसमाचार : सन्त लूकस का सुसमाचार 1:26-38

26) छठे महीने स्वर्गदूत गब्रिएल, ईश्वर की ओर से, गलीलिया के नाजरेत नामक नगर में एक कुँवारी के पास भेजा गया,

27) जिसकी मँगनी दाऊद के घराने के यूसुफ नामक पुरुष से हुई थी, और उस कुँवारी का नाम था मरियम।

28) स्वर्गदूत मे उसके यहाँ अन्दर आ कर उससे कहा, “प्रणाम, प्रभु की कृपापात्री! प्रभु आपके साथ है।"

29) वह इन शब्दों से घबरा गयी और मन में सोचती रही कि इस प्रणाम का अभिप्राय क्या है।

30) तब स्वर्गदूत ने उस से कहा, "मरियम! डरिए नहीं। आप को ईश्वर की कृपा प्राप्त है।

31) देखिए, आप गर्भवती होंगी, पुत्र प्रसव करेंगी और उनका नाम ईसा रखेंगी।

32) वे महान् होंगे और सर्वोच्च प्रभु के पुत्र कहलायेंगे। प्रभु-ईश्वर उन्हें उनके पिता दाऊद का सिंहासन प्रदान करेगा,

33) वे याकूब के घराने पर सदा-सर्वदा राज्य करेंगे और उनके राज्य का अन्त नहीं होगा।"

34) पर मरियम ने स्वर्गदूत से कहा, "यह कैसे हो सकता है? मेरा तो पुरुष से संसर्ग नहीं है।"

35) स्वर्गदूत ने उत्तर दिया, "पवित्र आत्मा आप पर उतरेगा और सर्वोच्च प्रभु की शक्ति की छाया आप पर पड़ेगी। इसलिए जो आप से उत्पन्न होंगे, वे पवित्र होंगे और ईश्वर के पुत्र कहलायेंगे।

36) देखिए, बुढ़ापे में आपकी कुटुम्बिनी एलीज़बेथ के भी पुत्र होने वाला है। अब उसका, जो बाँझ कहलाती थी, छठा महीना हो रहा है;

37) क्योंकि ईश्वर के लिए कुछ भी असम्भव नहीं है।"

38) मरियम ने कहा, "देखिए, मैं प्रभु की दासी हूँ। आपका कथन मुझ में पूरा हो जाये।" और स्वर्गदूत उसके पास से चला गया।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज हम प्रभु येसु के जन्म का संदेश का पर्व मना रहे है। पिता ईश्वर को हम धन्यवाद दे क्योंकि ईश्वर ने संसार को इतना प्यार किया कि उसने उसके लिए अपने एकलौते पुत्र को अर्पित कर दिया, जिससे जो उसमें विश्वास करता है, उसका सर्वनाश न हो, बल्कि अनन्त जीवन प्राप्त करे। आजा के दूसरे पाठ में इब्रानियों 10ः4 सॉडों तथा बकरों का रक्त पाप नहीं हर सकता। इसलिए येसु आये। वचन कहता है इब्रानियों 10ः10 ईसा मसीह के शरीर के एक ही बार बलि चढ़ाये जाने के कारण हम ईश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार पवित्र किये गये है ।

स्वर्गदूत गब्रिएल, ईश्वर की ओर से, माता मरियम के पास आये और कहा कि आप गर्भवती होंगी, पुत्र प्रसव करेंगी और उनका नाम ईसा रखेंगी। पिता ईश्वर ने माता मरियम को विशेष रूप में चुना और माता मरियम उनकी बुलाहट के अनुसार एक पवित्र जीवन बितायी। इसलिए वह प्रभु की कृपापात्री बन गयी। हमारी भी बुलाहट यही है कि येसु को हमारे जीवन में जन्म देना। हम सब बाप्तिस्मा संस्कार द्वारा प्रभु येसु मसीह को धारण किया है। संत पौलूस गलातियों 2ः20 में कहते है मैं अब जीवित नहीं रहा, बल्कि मसीह मुझ में जीवित हैं। अब मैं अपने शरीर में जो जीवन जीता हूॅू, उसका एकमात्र प्रेरणा स्रोत है-ईश्वर के पुत्र में विश्वास, जिसने मुझे प्यार किया और मेरे लिए अपने को उर्पित किया।

प्रभु हमारे जीवन में भी जन्म लेना चाहते है। चाहे आपकी परिस्थीति जो भी क्यों न हो, येसु हमारे अन्दर जन्म लेना चाहते है। हमें माता मरियम के जैसे विश्वास होना जरूरी है। माता मरियम कुवांरी होने के बावजूद भी इस पर विश्वास करती है और कहती है कि मैं प्रभु की दासी हॅू तेरा कथन मुझ में पूरा हो जाये। इसलिए एलीज़बेथ माता मरियम से कहती है लूकस 1ः45 धन्य है आप, जिन्होंने यह विश्वास किया कि प्रभु ने आप से जो कहा, वह पूरा हो जायेगा। प्यारे विश्वासियों वचन कहता है माकुस 9ः23 विश्वास करने वालों के लिए सबकुछ संभव है।

📚 REFLECTION

Today the Church is celebrating the feast of Annunciation. We thank God the Father for He so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. In today’s second reading Heb 10:4 for it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore Jesus the sinless lamb was sent. The word of God says Heb 10:10 and it is by God’s will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Angel Gabriel came from God, to convey message to Mary and the angel said to Mary: you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. God the Father chose Mary very specially and Mary lived a pure life according to the vocation she received. Therefore she became highly favoured one in the sight of God the Father. Our vocation is also like that of Mary, that is to give birth to Jesus in our life, to become another Christ. We have put on Jesus through the baptism we have received. St. Paul says in Gal 2:20 it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Jesus wants to take birth in our lives too. No matter what is our situation, even if we are sinful, Jesus wants to come inside of us. We need to have faith like Mary in order to give birth to Jesus in our life. Mary though she was a virgin she believed that what the angel said would happen therefore she said behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to your word. It is because of this Elizabeth said to Mary: blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord. So let us also believe that Jesus can take birth in us if we with faith allow him. Remember the word of God Mk 9:23 everything is possible for the one who believes.

📚 मनन-चिंतन-2

एक प्रचलित लोकप्रिय धारणा है कि जो कुछ भी हम 25 मार्च की मध्यरात्रि को ईश्वर से प्रार्थना में मांगेंगे ईश्वर हमें प्रदान करेंगे। 25 मार्च येसु के गर्भागमन का पर्व ईश्वर के मरियम के गर्भ में आने का क्षण है। यह मरियम के ईश्वर के दूत को उनकी योजना के प्रति हॉ करने के कारण संभव हुआ। इसलिये यह त्यौहार हमारे ईश्वर को हॉ कहने का भी पर्व है। मरियम के हॉ कहने के कारण समस्त मानव जाति के लिये ईश्वर की मुक्ति योजना का प्रांरभ हुआ। यह पर्व हमें सिखाता है कि जब हम ईश्वर को हॉ कहते तो इससे असख्ंय लोगों का कल्याण होता है।

बाइबिल में ऐसे अनेक लोग है जो उतने योग्य नहीं थे किन्तु उन्होंने ईश्वर की योजना को हॉ कहकर स्वयं तथा दूसरों की मुक्ति के द्वार खोले। जब नूह से ईश्वर ने पोत बनाने को कहा तो उन्होंने हॉ कहा। इब्राहिम अपने पुत्र का बलिदान चढाने को तैयार हो गये। युसूफ ने ईश्वर की इच्छानुसार अपने भाइयों को माफ किया। मूसा फिराउन के पास जाने को तैयार हुये। रेहाब ने इस्राएलियों को बचाया, दाउद ने गोलियत से लडने में हामी भरी। दानिएल ने दूसरे देवताओं की आराधना से इंकार किया, मरियम ने ईशपुत्र की माता बनना स्वीकारा। शिष्य अपना सबकुछ छोड कर येसु के पीछे हो लिये तथा पौलुस ने गैर-यहूदियों को सुसमाचार सुनाना स्वीकार किया।

हम भी ईश्वर को हॉ कहना चाहते हैं किन्तु ईश्वर को हॉ कहने का मतलब है अपनी इच्छाओं और योजनाओं को ना कहना। हम कठिन या विषम परिस्थतियों में भी कैसे ईश्वर को हॉ कह सकते है? यदि तो सबसे कठिन और जाटिल काम होता है। जब तक हमारी इच्छानुसार जीवन जाता है तब तक ईश्वर के अनुसार चलना आसान होता है किन्तु जब ईश्वर चाहते हैं कि हम अपना परिचित तथा आरामदायक जीवन छोड कर कुछ नया, विशेष एवं कठिन करे तथा आंखों की दृष्टि से नहीं बल्कि विश्वास की दृष्टि से जीये तो स्थिति चुनौतीपूर्ण हो जाती है। किन्तु ईश्वर को हॉ कहना हमारे जीवन को बदल सकता है। ईश्वर का पुरस्कार भी महान होता है। ईश्वर को हॉ कहने पर ईश्वर हमारी रक्षा करते, हमारा प्रबंध करते तथा अपनी प्रतिज्ञाओं को पूरा करते हैं। हमारी माता मरियम अपने ईश्वर की योजना के अनुसार जीये जीवन से हमारा उत्साह बढाती तथा हमें प्रेरणा देती है।

📚 REFLECTION-2

There is popular belief that whatever we ask at the stroke of midnight in prayer of 25th March at feast of annunciation you would receive from God. It was the moment God became man in womb of Mary. However, I have a different stand towards this belief. I believe annunciation is a time when we should not be asking God any favor bur rather seeking to do what God wants us to do. The feast is the memorial of the great Yes to the Lord Mary said to the Angel. Mary’s yes set into effect the grand economy of God’s salvation. The feast teaches us that saying ‘yes’ to God always unleashes immeasurable goodness to all. Mary was neither the first one who had said yes to God against all odds nor the last.

There are many ordinary, flawed, messed up, scared, and insecure people in the Bible who said yes to God not knowing what it would mean for their lives.

Noah said YES when God asked him to build the ark.

Abraham said YES when God asked him to sacrifice his only son.

Joseph said YES when God asked him to forgive his brothers who beat and sold him into slavery.

Moses said YES when God told him to go to Pharaoh and ask him to let the Israelites go.

Rahab said yes when asked to hide the Israelite spies and risk her own life and the lives of her family.

David said YES when God asked him to fight the giant Goliath with only a slingshot and a few stones.

Esther said YES when Mordecai told her to go to the king to save her people.

Daniel said YES when God told him not to bow down and worship other idols.

Mary said YES when the angel told her she would carry God’s son, Jesus.

The disciples said YES when Jesus asked them to leave everything behind and follow him.

Paul said YES when God asked him to deliver the good news of Jesus to the Gentiles.

We too want to say yes to God! But saying yes to what God asks may include saying no to what you want and to what others think is best…how do you say yes when it’s hard to do? This is when things get complicated! It is so easy to go along with God’s plan when it suits your needs, but what about when God’s “asking” requires us to risk too much, leave our comfort zones, or walk by blind faith? Saying yes to God is a bold declaration.

It may be difficult.

It may be unpopular.

It may be uncomfortable.

But saying ‘yes’ to God is also rewarding and life-changing, moment! Don’t forget that saying yes is just the beginning of the story. God provided for, protected, and fulfilled His promises to each person who stepped out in faith and boldly followed God’s directions.

Mary Our Mother set a beautiful and an ideal example for all her children to emulate. Let us take courage and inspiration from her journey of faith.

14 And Nabuchodonosor the king spoke to them, and said: Is it true, O Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, that you do not worship my gods, nor adore the golden statue that I have set up?

15 Now therefore if you be ready at what hour soever you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, harp, sackbut, and psaltery, and symphony, and of all kind of music, prostrate yourselves, and adore the statue which I have made: but if you do not adore, you shall be cast the same hour into the furnace of burning fire: and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?

16 Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago answered and said to king Nabuchodonosor: We have no occasion to answer thee concerning this matter.

17 For behold our God, whom we worship, is able to save us from the furnace of burning fire, and to deliver us out of thy hands, O king.

18 But if he will not, be it known to thee, O king, that we will not worship thy gods, nor adore the golden statue which thou hast set up.

19 Then was Nabuchodonosor filled with fury: and the countenance of his face was changed against Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times more than it had been accustomed to be heated.

20 And he commanded the strongest men that were in his army, to bind the feet of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast them into the furnace of burning fire.

91 Then Nabuchodonosor the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles: Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered the king, and said: True, O king.

92 He answered, and said: Behold I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no hurt in them, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews, who believed him: If you continue in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed.

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him: We are the seed of Abraham, and we have never been slaves to any man: how sayest thou: you shall be free?

34 Jesus answered them: Amen, amen I say unto you: that whosoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.

35 Now the servant abideth not in the house for ever; but the son abideth for ever.

36 If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

37 I know that you are the children of Abraham: but you seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do the things that you have seen with your father.

39 They answered, and said to him: Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them: If you be the children of Abraham, do the works of Abraham.

चालीसे का पांचवां सप्ताह

पहला पाठ : दानिएल का ग्रन्थ 3:14-20,91-92,95

14) नबूकदनेज़र ने कहा, ’’शद्र्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो! क्या यह बात सच है कि तुम लोग न तो मेरे देवताओं की सेवा करते और न मेरे द्वारा संस्थापित स्वर्ण-मूर्ति की आराधना करते हो?

15) क्या तुम लोग अब तुरही, वंशी, सितार, सारंगी, वीणा और सब प्रकार के वाद्यों की आवाज सुनते ही मेरी बनायी मूर्ति को दण्डवत कर उसकी आराधना करने तैयार हो? यदि तुम उसकी आराधना नहीं करोग, तो उसी समय प्रज्वलित भट्टी में डाल दिये जाओगे। तब कौन देवता तुम लोगों को मेरे हाथों से बचा सकेगा?''

16) शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो ने राजा नबूकदनेज़र को यह उत्तर दिया, ’’राजा! इसके सम्बन्ध में हमें आप से कुछ नहीं कहना है।

17) यदि कोई ईश्वर है, जो ऐसा कर सकता है, तो वह हमारा ही ईश्वर है, जिसकी हम सेवा करते हैं। वह हमें प्रज्वलित भट्टी से बचाने में समर्थ है और हमें आपके हाथों से छुडायेगा।

18) यदि वह ऐसा नहीं करेगा, तो राजा! यह जान लें कि हम न तो आपके देवताओं की सेवा करेंगे और न आपके द्वारा संस्थापित स्वर्ण-मूर्ति की आराधना ही।’’

19) यह सुन कर नबूकदनेज़र शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो पर बहुत क्रुद्ध हो गया और उसके चेहरे का रंग बदल गया। उसने भट्टी का ताप सामान्य से सात गुना अधिक तेज करने की आज्ञा दी

20) और अपनी सेना से कुछ बलिष्ठ जवानों को आदेश दिया कि वे शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो को बाँध कर प्रज्वलित भट्टी में डाल दें।

91) राजा नबूकदनेज़र बड़े अचम्भे में पड गया। वह घबरा कर उठ खड़ा हुआ और अपने दरबारियों से बोला, “क्या हमने तीन व्यक्तियों को बाँध कर आग में नहीं डलवाया?“ उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, “राजा! आप ठीक कहते हैं“।

92) इस पर उसने कहा, “मैं तो चार व्यक्तियों को मुक्त हो कर आग में सकुशल टहलते देख रहा हूँ। चैथा स्वर्गदूत-जैसा दिखता है।

95) तब नबूकदनेज़र बोल उठा, “धन्य है शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो का ईश्वर! उसने अपने दूत को भेजा है, जिससे वह उसके उन सेवकों की रक्षा करे, जिन्होंने ईश्वर पर भरोसा रख कर राजाज्ञा का उल्लंघन किया और अपने शरीर अर्पित कर दिये; क्योंकि वे अपने ईश्वर को छोड कर किसी अन्य देवता की सेवा या आराधना नहीं करना चाहते थे।

सुसमाचार : सन्त योहन का सुसमाचार 8:31-42

31) जिन यहूदियों ने उन में विश्वास किया, उन से ईसा ने कहा, ‘‘यदि तुम मेरी शिक्षा पर दृढ़ रहोगे, तो सचमुच मेरे शिष्य सिद्ध होगे।

32) तुम सत्य को पहचान जाओगे और सत्य तुम्हें स्वतन्त्र बना देगा।’’

33) उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, ‘‘हम इब्राहीम की सन्तान हैं, हम कभी किसी के दास नहीं रहे। आप यह क्या कहते हैं- तुम स्वतन्त्र हो जाओगे?’’

34) ईसा ने उन से कहा, ‘‘मै तुम से यह कहता हूँ- जो पाप करता है, वह पाप का दास है।

35) दास सदा घर में नहीं रहता, पुत्र सदा रहता है।

36) इसलिए यदि पुत्र तुम्हें स्वतन्त्र बना देगा, तो तुम सचमुच स्वतन्त्र होगे।

37) ‘‘मैं जानता हूँ कि तुम लोग इब्राहीम की सन्तान हो। फिर भी तुम मुझे मार डालने की ताक में रहते हो, क्योंकि मेरी शिक्षा तुम्हारे हृदय में घर नहीं कर सकी।

38) मैंने अपने पिता के यहाँ जो देखा है, वही कहता हूँ और तुम लोगों ने अपने पिता के यहाँ जो सीखा है, वही करते हो।’’ उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, ‘‘इब्राहीम हमारे पिता हैं’’।

39) इस पर ईसा ने उन से कहा, ‘‘यदि तुम इब्राहीम की सन्तान हो, तो इब्राहीम-जैसा आचरण करो।

40) अब तो तुम मुझे इसलिए मार डालने की ताक में रहते हो कि मैंने जो सत्य ईश्वर से सुना, वह तुम लोगों को बता दिया। यह इब्राहीम-जैसा आचरण नहीं है।

41) तुम लोग तो अपने ही पिता-जैसा आचरण करते हो।’’ उन्होंने ईसा से कहा, ‘‘हम व्यभिचार से पैदा नहीं हुए। हमारा एक ही पिता है और वह ईश्वर है।’’

42) ईसा ने यहूदियों से कहा, ‘‘यदि ईश्वर तुम्हारा पिता होता, तो तुम मुझे प्यार करते, क्योंकि मैं ईश्वर से उत्पन्न हुआ हूँ और उसके यहाँ से आया हूँ। मैं अपनी इच्छा से नहीं आया हूँ, मुझे उसी ने भेजा है।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज के सुसमाचार में योहन 8ः31-32 येसु कहते है कि यदि तुम मेरी शिक्षा पर दृढ़ रहोगे, तो सचमुच मेरे शिष्य सिद्ध होगे। तुम सत्य को पहचान जाओगे और सत्य तुम्हें स्वतन्त्र बना देगा। कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि येसु के शिष्य होने के लिए हमें उनकी शिक्षा पर दृढ़ रहना बहुत आवश्य है। उनकी शिक्षा का पालन न करते हुए कोई भी उनका शिष्य न हो सकता है। येसु यह भी कहते है कि जब हम उनकी शिक्षा पर दृढ़ रहते है तो हम सत्य को पहचान जाओगे और सत्य तुम्हें स्वतन्त्र बना देगा। सप्य कौन है? योहन 14ः6 में येसु कहते है कि वे सत्य है। तो येसु ही या येसु कि शिक्षा ही हमें स्वतन्त्र बना सकता है। योहन 8ः36 में वचन कहता है यदि पुत्र तुम्हें स्वतन्त्र बना देगा, तो तुम सचमुच स्वतन्त्र होगे।

आज कें पहले पाठ में हम देखते है कि जब शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो ईश्वर की शिक्षा पर दृढ़ बने रहे तो धधकती भट्टी में डाला जाने के बावजूद भी आग उन्हें भस्म नहीं किया। वे तीनों स्वतन्त्र रहें। अगर हम भी पापों से भरा इस दुनिया में येसु कि शिक्षा पर दृढ़ बने रहेंगे तो पाप हमें कुछ नहीं कर पायेगा। हम हमारे जीवन में आध्यात्मिक रूप में स्वतन्त्र बने रह पायेंगे। येसु कहते है जो पाप करता है वह पाप का दास है। संत अगस्तिन कहते है कि जो पाप करता है, वह दास है भले वह राजा क्यों न हो और जो पाप नहीं करता है, वह स्वतन्त्र है भले वह दास क्यों न हो।

संत पौलूस (गलातियों 5ः1) हम से कहते है मसीह ने स्वतन्त्र बने रहने के लिए ही हमें स्वतन्त्र बनाया, इसलिए आप लोग दृढ़ रहें और फिर दासता के जुए में नहीं जुतें। और गलातियों 5ः13 में वचन कहता है आप जानते हैं कि आप लोग स्वतन्त्र होने के लिए बुलाये गये हैं। आप सावधान रहें, नहीं तो यह स्वतन्त्रता भोग विलास का कारण बन जायेगी। इस चालिसा काल में हम अपने आप से पूछे कि क्या सचमुच में हम स्वतन्त्र है कि नहीं। अगर हम अभी भी पाप के बन्धनों में है तो येसु के पास जायें वह हमें पुर्ण रूप से पाप से मुक्त करेगा, क्योंकि येसु हमें पाप की गुलामी से मुक्त करने के लिए इस दुनिया में आए।

📚 REFLECTION

In today’s gospel Jn 8:31-32 Jesus says: if you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. What Jesus emphasizes here is that to become a disciple of Jesus one needs to follow all the commandments of Jesus. One can never be a disciple of Jesus if he/she does not follow the commandments. Then Jesus says that if we continue in his word then we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. In Jn 14:6 Jesus says that he is the truth. So it is Jesus or his words that sets us free. In Jn 8:36 if the son of man makes you free, you are free indeed.

In today’s first reading we hear that when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego remained steadfast in the commandment of God they were saved from the fire. Even though they were put in to the fire for not worshipping the king, fire could not consume them. They were set free from the fire. In this world of sin if we remain with Jesus, continue in his teaching then sin will have no control over us. We will be able to experience freedom in our spiritual life. Jesus says that those who commit sin is a slave to sin. St. Augustine says that he who sins is a slave though he be a king, and he who does not commit sin is a free man though he be a slave.

St. Paul says to us in Galatians’ 5:1 for freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Again in Galatians’ 5:13 for you are called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as a opportunity for self indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. In this season of lent let us ask ourselves that are we really and truly free? If we are still in the bondage of sin, then let us go to Jesus, for He alone can set us free, He alone can give us true freedom. Jesus came into this world to set us free from sin.
