वर्ष का बत्तीसवाँ सामान्य सप्ताह, गुरुवार

📒 पहला पाठ : फिलेमोन 7-20

7) भाई! मुझे यह जान कर बड़ा आनन्द हुआ और सान्त्वना मिली कि आपने अपने भ्रातृ-प्रेम द्वारा विश्वासियों का हृदय हरा कर दिया है।

8) इसलिए, यद्यपि मुझे आप को अपने कर्तव्य का स्मरण दिलाने का पूरा अधिकार है,

9) फिर भी मैं भ्रातृप्रेम के नाम पर आप से प्रार्थना करना अधिक उचित समझता हूँ। मैं पौलुस, जो बूढ़ा हो चला और आजकल ईसा मसीह के कारण कै़दी भी हूँ,

10) ओनेसिमुस के लिए आप से प्रार्थना कर रहा हूँ। वह मेरा पुत्र है, क्योंकि मैं कैद में उसका आध्यात्मिक पिता बन गया हूँ।

11) आप को पहले ओनेसिमुस से कोई विशेष लाभ नहीं हुआ था। अब वह आपके लिए भी ’उपयोगी’ बन गया है और मेरे लिए भी।

12) मैं अपने कलेजे के इस टुकड़े को आपके पास वापस भेज रहा हूँ।

13) मैं जो सुसमाचार के कारण कैदी हूँ, इसे यहाँ अपने पास रखना चाहता था, जिससे यह आपके बदले मेरी सेवा करे।

14) किन्तु आपकी सहमति के बिना मैंने कुछ नहीं करना चाहा, जिससे आप यह उपकार लाचारी से नहीं, बल्कि स्वेच्छा से करें।

15) ओनेसिमुस शायद इसलिए कुछ समय तक आप से ले लिया गया था कि वह आप को सदा के लिए प्राप्त हो,

16) अब दास के रूप में नहीं, बल्कि दास से कहीं, बढ़ कर-अतिप्रिय भाई के रूप में। यह मुझे अत्यन्त प्रिय है और आप को कहीं अधिक -मनुष्य के नाते भी और प्रभु के शिष्य के नाते भी।

17) इसलिए यदि आप मुझे धर्म-भाई समझते हैं, तो इसे उसी तरह अपनायें, जिस तरह मुझे।

18) यदि आप को इस से कोई हानि हुई है या इस पर आपका कुछ कर्ज़ है, तो मेरे खर्चें में लिखें।

19) मैं, पौलुस, अपने हाथ से लिख रहा हूँ-मैं उसे चुका दूँगा। क्या मैं आप को इसका स्मरण दिलाऊँ कि आप पर भी मेरा कुछ कजऱ् है- आप तो मेरे ही हैं।

20) भाई! प्रभु के नाम पर मुझे आप से कुछ लाभ हो। आप मसीह के कारण मेरा हृदय हरा कर दें।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 17:20-25

20) जब फ़रीसियों ने उन से पूछा कि ईश्वर का राज्य कब आयेगा, तो ईसा ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, "ईश्वर का राज्य प्रकट रूप से नहीं आता।

21) लोग नहीं कह सकेंगे, ‘देखो-वह यहाँ है’ अथवा, ‘देखो-वह वहाँ है’; क्योंकि ईश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारे ही बीच है।"

22) ईसा ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा, "ऐसा समय आयेगा, जब तुम मानव पुत्र का एक दिन भी देखना चाहोगे, किन्तु उसे नहीं देख पाओगे।

23) लोग तुम से कहेंगे, ’देखो-वह यहाँ है’, अथवा, ‘देखो-वह वहाँ है’, तो तुम उधर नहीं जाओगे, उनके पीछे नहीं दौड़ोगे;

24) क्योंकि जैसे बिजली आकाश के एक छोर से निकल कर दूसरे छोर तक चमकती है, वैसे ही मानव पुत्र अपने दिन प्रकट होगा।

25) परन्तु पहले उसे बहुत दुःख सहना और इस पीढ़ी द्वारा ठुकराया जाना है।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

हम अपने जीवन में बहुत कुछ पाने की धुन में लगें रहते हैं परंतु प्रभु येसु मत्ती 6ः33 में हम से कहते हैं, ‘‘तुम सब से पहले ईश्वर के राज्य और उसकी धार्मिकता की खोज में लगे रहो और ये सब चीजें, तुम्हें यों ही मिल जायेंगी।’’ इस वचन के द्वारा येसु ने ईश्वर के राज्य की खोज करते के लिए कहा। प्रभु येसु ने ईश्वर के राज्य के बारे में बहुत सारी शिक्षाएॅं दी है तथा कई दृष्टान्तो द्वारा ईश्वर के राज्य के विषय में समझाया। आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, ‘‘ईश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारे ही बीच है।’’

ईश्वर के राज्य को समझने के लिए हमें इतिहास की मदद लेनी होंगी। पहले का समय आज के समय से बहुत अलग होता था, पहले के समय में राजा और सम्राट हुआ करते थे। और एक-एक राजा का साम्राज्य हुआ करता था। सम्राज्य उस राजा की सीमा थी जिसके अंर्तगत वहॉं की वस्तुए, खेत-खलिहान, जंगल तथा प्रजा उस राजा के अधिकार में आता था और उस पूरे राज्य में राजा की ही शासन चलता था। जो राजा का आदेश होता था, उसे वहॉं के सैनिक और प्रजा उसका पालन करते थे। ठीक इसी प्रकार जहॉं ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं का पालन होता है वह ईश्वर का राज्य कहलाता है। ईश्वर के राज्य को हम ऑंखों से नहीं देख सकते केवल उसका एहसास कर सकते है। ईश्वर की ईच्छा और आज्ञा सम्पूर्ण रूप से स्वर्ग में पूरी होती है इस कारण स्वर्ग को ईश्वर का राज्य भी कहा जाता है।

प्रभु येसु जब कहते है ईश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारे ही बीच है इसका तात्पर्य यहीं है कि जहॉं ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं का पालन होता है वहॉं ईश्वर का राज्य होता हैं। प्रभु येसु अपने जीवन में हर वक्त ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं को पूरा करते थे क्योकि उनका भोजन ही ईश्वर की ईच्छा पूरी करना था (योहन 4ः34)। प्रभु सभी को यह बताना चाह रहे थे कि उनके जीवन के द्वारा ईश्वर का राज्य तुम्हारे बीच में है अर्थात् वे ईश्वर के राज्य के रूप में सबके बीच में उपस्थित थे। और उस ईश्वरीय राज्य को वहॉं के अन्धों, लंगड़ों, पापी, नाकेदार और धर्मी व्यक्तियों ने महसूस किया एवं पहचाना।

जब कभी हम ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं और ईच्छा का पालन करते हैं तब हम अपने जीवन द्वारा ईश्वर के राज्य को प्रकट करते हैं। हम सब ईश्वर के राज्य की प्रजा बनने के लिए स्वतंत्र है हम चाहे तो ईश्वर के राज्य में रह सकते है या अपने आप को ईश्वर के राज्य से दूर ले जा सकते हैं। जिस प्रकार प्रभु येसु की सिखाई हुई प्रार्थना में स्वर्ग के समान इस धरती पर ईश्वर का राज्य आने एवं ईश्वर की ईच्छा पूरी होने की प्रार्थना करते हैं हम उस स्वर्गराज्य को हमारे बीच में लायें। आमेन!

📚 REFLECTION

We look forward for many things to achieve in this world but Lord Jesus says in Mt. 6:33, “Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” In this verse Jesus told first to strive for the Kingdom of God. Lord Jesus have given so many teachings with regard to the kingdom of God and explained about it through many parables. In today’s gospel Lord Jesus says, “Kingdom of God is amidst you.”

In order to understand Kingdom of God we have to take the help of history. Earlier time and this time is very different, in earlier times there used to be kings and emperors; and each king was having his own kingdom. Whole land, fields, forest, things and people under the territory of King was known as kingdom. The particular king used to reign in that territory and whatever was king’s order, it was obeyed by the soldiers and the people. Similarly where ever the God’s commandments are fulfilled that is the Kingdom of God. Kingdom of God can’t be seen visibly but can be only felt. In heaven God’s will and words are being done in fullness i.e. heaven is also known as the Kingdom of God.

When Lord Jesus says the kingdom of God is amidst you, it means that where ever the will of God is done there is the kingdom of God. Lord Jesus use to do God’s will whole time because his food was to do God’s will (Jn 4:34). Lord Jesus wanted to say that by his life God’s kingdom is amidst you, which means He was there as the kingdom of God amidst them; and that God’s Kingdom was recognized and felt by blind, lame, sinners, tax-collectors and righteous people.

Whenever we obey the commandments and will of God then we manifest the kingdom of God through our lives. We all are free to become the people of God’s kingdom. We can either live in God’s kingdom or we can take ourselves away from God’s kingdom, it depends on each one of us. As we pray in the prayer taught by Lord Jesus ‘Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven’ let’s try to establish God’s kingdom amidst us. Amen!

14 Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.

15 And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.

16 And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?

18 There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger.

19 And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.

📒 पहला पाठ : तीतुस 3:1-7

1) सब को याद दिलाओं कि शासकों तथा अधिकारियों के अधीन रहना और उनकी आज्ञाओं का पालन करना उनका कर्तव्य है। वे हर प्रकार के सत्कार्य के लिए तत्पर रहें,

2) किसी की निन्दा न करें, झगड़ालू नहीं, बल्कि सहनशील हों और सब लोगों के साथ नम्र व्यवहार करें।

3) क्योंकि हम भी तो पहले नासमझ, अवज्ञाकारी, भटके हुए, हर प्रकार की वासनाओं और भोगों के वशीभूत थे। हम विद्वेष और ईर्ष्या में जीवन बिताते थे। हम घृणित थे और एक दूसरे से बैर करते थे।

4) किन्तु हमारे मुक्तिदाता ईश्वर की कृपालुता तथा मनुष्यों के प्रति उसका प्रेम पृथ्वी पर प्रकट हो गया।

5) उसने नवजीवन के जल और पवित्र आत्मा की संजीवन शक्ति द्वारा हमारा उद्धार किया। उसने हमारे किसी पुण्य कर्म के कारण ऐसा नहीं किया, बल्कि इसलिए कि वह दयालु है।

6) उसने हमारे मुक्तिदाता ईसा मसीह द्वारा हमें प्रचुर मात्रा में पवित्र आत्मा का वरदान दिया,

7) जिससे हम उसकी कृपा की सहायता से धर्मी बन कर अनन्त जीवन के उत्तराधिकारी बनने की आशा कर सकें।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 17:11-19

11) ईसा येरुसालेम की यात्रा करते हुए समारिया और गलीलिया के सीमा-क्षेत्रों से हो कर जा रहे थे।

12) किसी गाँव में प्रवेश करने पर उन्हें दस कोढ़ी मिले,

13) जो दूर खड़े हो गये और ऊँचे स्वर से बोले, "ईसा! गुरूवर! हम पर दया कीजिए"।

14) ईसा ने उन्हें देख कर कहा, "जाओ और अपने को याजकों को दिखलाओ", और ऐसा हुआ कि वे रास्ते में ही नीरोग हो गये।

15) तब उन में से एक यह देख कर कि वह नीरोग हो गया है, ऊँचे स्वर से ईश्वर की स्तुति करते हुए लौटा।

16) वह ईसा को धन्यवाद देते हुए उनके चरणों पर मुँह के बल गिर पड़ा, और वह समारी था।

17) ईसा ने कहा, "क्या दसों नीरोग नहीं हुए? तो बाक़ी नौ कहाँ हैं?

18) क्या इस परदेशी को छोड़ और कोई नहीं मिला, जो लौट कर ईश्वर की स्तुति करे?"

19) तब उन्होंने उस से कहा, "उठो, जाओ। तुम्हारे विश्वास ने तुम्हारा उद्धार किया है।"

📚 मनन-चिंतन

हमारी जिंदगी में जब कभी हम किसी चीज़ की बहुत समय से आस लगाये बैठे हों जिसके लिए हम बहुत दुआ और कोशिश कर रहें हो, अगर वह हमें मिल जायें तो क्या होगा? ज़ाहिर सी बात है हम खुशी से उछल पड़ेंगे, आनंद से झूमेंगे और खुशियॉं बाटेंगे पर क्या हम उनको भूल जायेंगे जिसकी मदद से या सहायता से हमें वह चीज़ मिली?

आज का सुसमाचार हमें इसी प्रश्न की ओर ले जाता है जहॉं पर दस कोढ़ी चंगे हो जाते है, परंतु उनमें से एक ही, और वह भी समारी ईश्वर की स्तुति करते हुए येसु को धन्यवाद देने पहुॅंचता जिसके द्वारा उसे चंगाई मिली। बाकि के नौ कोढ़ी को क्या हुआ? उन्हे भी तो चंगाई मिली, क्या वे आनंद में इतना डूब गये कि धन्यवाद के लिए वापिस नहीं आये या चंगाई मिलने पर वे अपने अपने घर अपने परिजनों से मिलने चले गये? हमें ठीक ठीक मालूम नहीं कि वे क्यांे नहीं लौटे जबकि वे यहुदी थे। परंतु हमें इतना तो जरूर मालूम है कि उन दस में से सिर्फ एक समारी ही येसु के पास लौटकर अपना आभार प्रकट करता है।

आज का सुमाचार हमंे दो महत्वपूर्ण बाते बताती है

पहला येसु के वचन का पालन करने से हमारे जीवन में चमत्कार होता है। अक्सर हम प्रभु से दुआ करते है, बहुत कुछ प्रार्थना में मॉंगते हैं, जीवन में चमत्कार की आशा करते है। परंतु आज का सुसमाचार हमें बताता है कि जितना हम येसु की आज्ञाओं का पालन करते जायेंगे उतना हम हमारे जीवन में चमत्कार और चिन्ह को देखेंगे जिसकी हमने कल्पना भी नहीं की होगी। दस कोढ़ी प्रभु येसु से दया की भीक मॉंगते है प्रभु येसु न तो उनका स्पर्श करते है और न ही अपने वचनों द्वारा चंगा करते हैं परंतु उनसे कहते है जा कर अपने आप को याजको को दिखाओ। उस समय यह प्रथा थी कि जो भी कोढ़ से ठीक होता था उसे सबसे पहले याजक के पास जाकर उससे प्रमाण लेना पड़ता था कि वह पूर्ण रूप से स्वच्छ हो गया है तब जाकर वह अपने परिवार के साथ साधारण जीवन जी सकता था। जब प्रभु येसु ने उन दस कोढ़ीयों से कहा, ‘जाकर याजक को दिखाओं’ तब उनके मन में कई प्रश्न आ सकता था परंतु उन सबके परे वे येसु की बात मान कर चल देते है और वे मार्ग में ही चंगे हो जाते है।

दूसरा महत्वपूर्ण बात जो आज का सुसमाचार हमें बताती है वह है ईश्वर के प्रति कृतज्ञ भरा जीवन। प्रभु हमारे जीवन में अद्भुत अद्भुत कार्य करते हैं जिसे हम जान भी न पाते हों या जिसे हम जानकर भी नजरअंदाज़ कर देते हो। जब हमारा कार्य हो जाता है तो शायद हम प्रभु को भूल जाते है या इसका श्रेय ईश्वर को नहीं देते; हम सोंचते है यह तो हमारे कारण पूर्ण हुआ या ये तो इत्तेफाक था। परंतु जब कभी हम प्रभु के उपकारों की ओर सही रूप से दृष्टि लगायेंगे तो हमारा जीवन उनके उपकारों के सामने छोटा पड़ जायेगा। स्तोत्र 116ः12, ‘‘प्रभु के सब उपकारों के लिए मैं उसे क्या दे सकता हूॅं?’’ प्रभु के हम पर इतने उपकार है कि हम सोच भी नहीं सकते। प्रभु कितने सारे कार्य हमारे जीवन में करता हैं और अधिकतर कार्य हम जान भी नहीं पाते। किन किन र्दुघटनाओं, विपत्तियों से वह हमें बचा कर रखता है। जब हम प्रतिदिन ध्यान से ईश्वर की कृपाओं का मनन करते रहेंगे तो हम अपने आपको ईश्वर के सामने बहुत ही छोटा पायेंगे तथा हमारा जीवन ईश्वर के प्रति कृतज्ञता भरा जीवन बनता जाएगा।

आईये हम ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं का पालन करते जायें तथा ईश्वर के प्रति एक कृतज्ञ भरा जीवन जीयें तथा उनके वचनो अपने दैनिक जीवन में पालन करें। आमेन!

📚 REFLECTION

In our lives, suppose we have waited so long for a thing to achieve, for which we have prayed a lot, for which we have put all our efforts and when we get that thing what will happen? Obviously, we will be jumping in happiness, dancing with joy and will share our joy and happiness with everybody. But will we ever forget the person because of whom we achieved the thing?

Today’s gospel highlights this question where ten lepers got cleansed but among them only one, and that too a Samaritan praising God comes to thank Jesus, because of whom he received the healing. What happened to other nine? They too were cleansed, whether they were so immersed in happiness that they forgot to go back and thank Jesus or after receiving the healing they went to their homes to meet their relatives. We do not know exactly why they did not return to thank, even though they were Jews. But we only know that only one Samaritan returns to express his gratitude towards Jesus.

Today’s gospel teaches us two important things:

Firstly, Miracles happen in our lives by obeying Jesus words. Usually we pray to God and ask so many things through prayers and expect some miracle to happen in our life. But today’s gospel tells us that if we go on obeying God’s commandments, those miracles and signs will happen in our lives of which we may never expect. Ten lepers cried for mercy to Jesus. Lord Jesus did not touched them nor healed them through his words but told them to go and show themselves to the priests.

That time it was the custom that whoever is healed of leprosy have to show themselves to the priest and get the certificate that he/she is cleansed then only they can live their lives with their family. When Lord Jesus said to the ten lepers ‘go and show yourselves to the priests’ then many questions might come in their minds but apart from everything they agree to Jesus and went and on the way itself they were healed.

Second important thing which we come to know through today’s gospel is- a life of gratitude towards God. God does wonders in our life of whom we do not know or even if we know also we ignore them. When our work is done then perhaps we forget the Lord or we do not give the due credit to God; we think that it is due to our own efforts or this is mere coincidence. But whenever we see the benevolence of God with the eye of gratitude then our life will fall short in front of his blessings and bounty. Psalm 116:12, “What shall I render unto the Lord for the benefits towards me?” God’s bounty is so much on us that we can never imagine. God does so many marvels in our lives and mostly we do not come to know about them; how he protects us from many unseen dangers and accidents. When we will keep on meditating on the blessings of God then we will realize our unworthiness in front of God and our attitude will change to a life of gratitude towards God.

Let’s live a life of gratitude towards God and obey his words in our daily lives. Amen

8 And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?

9 Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?

10 I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.

📒 पहला पाठ : तीतुस 2:1-8, 11-14

1) तुम ऐसी शिक्षा दो, जो सही धर्म-सिद्धान्त के अनुकूल हो।

2) वृद्धों को समझाओं कि उन्हें संयमी, गम्भीर एवं समझदार होना चाहिए और विश्वास, भ्रातृप्रेम एवं धैर्य में परिपक्व।

3) इसी प्रकार वृद्धाओं का आचरण प्रभु-भक्तों के अनुरूप हो। वे किसी की झूठी निन्दा न करें और न मदिरा की व्यसनी हों। वे अपने सदाचरण द्वारा,

4) तरूण स्त्रियों को ऐसी शिक्षा दें कि वे अपने पति और अपने बच्चों को प्यार करें,

5) समझदार, शुद्ध और सुशील हों, अपने घर का अच्छा प्रबन्ध करें और अपने पति के अधीन रहें, जिससे लोग सुसमाचार की निन्दा न कर सकें।

6) नवयुवकों को समझाओ कि वे सब बातों में संयम से रहें,

7) और तुम स्वयं उन्हें अच्छा उदाहरण दो। तुम्हारी शिक्षा प्रामाणिक और गम्भीर हो।

8) तुम्हारे उपदेश हितकर और अनिद्य हों। इस प्रकार विरोधी किसी भी बात के विषय में हमारी निन्दा न कर सकने के कारण लज्जित होगा।

11) क्योंकि ईश्वर की कृपा सभी मनुष्यों की मुक्ति के लिए प्रकट हो गयी है।

12) वह हमें यह शिक्षा देती है कि अधार्मिकता तथा विषयवासना त्याग कर हम इस पृथ्वी पर संयम, न्याय तथा भक्ति का जीवन बितायें

13) और उस दिन की प्रतीक्षा करें, जब हमारी आशाएं पूरी हो जायेंगी और हमारे महान् ईश्वर एवं मुक्तिदाता ईसा मसीह की महिमा प्रकट होगी।

14) उन्होंने हमारे लिए अपने को बलि चढ़ाया, जिससे वह हमें हर प्रकार की बुराई से मुक्त करें और हमें एक ऐसी प्रजा बनायें जो शुद्ध हो, जो उनकी अपनी हो और जो भलाई करने के लिए उत्सुक हो।

📙 सुसमाचार : लूकस 17:7-10

7) "यदि तुम्हारा सेवक हल जोत कर या ढोर चरा कर खेत से लौटता है, तो तुम में ऐसा कौन है, जो उससे कहेगा, "आओ, तुरन्त भोजन करने बैठ जाओ’?

8) क्या वह उस से यह नहीं कहेगा, ‘मेरा भोजन तैयार करो। जब तक मेरा खाना-पीना न हो जाये, कमर कस कर परोसते रहो। बाद में तुम भी खा-पी लेना’?

9) क्या स्वामी को उस नौकर को इसीलिए धन्यवाद देना चाहिए कि उसने उसकी आज्ञा का पालन किया है?

10) तुम भी ऐसे ही हो। सभी आज्ञाओं का पालन करने के बाद तुम को कहना चाहिए, ‘हम अयोग्य सेवक भर हैं, हमने अपना कर्तव्य मात्र पूरा किया है’।"

📚 मनन-चिंतन

संत पौलुस आज के प्रथम पाठ में तीतुस को यह हिदायत देते हैं कि तुम ऐसी शिक्षा दो, जो सही धर्म-सिद्धान्त के अनुकूल हो। संत पौलुस यह कहना चाहते है कि तुम जिस किसी को भी शिक्षा दो चाहें वह वृद्ध हों या तरूण स्त्रियां हो या नवयुवक हों या जो कोई भी हो वह शिक्षा धर्म-सि़द्धांत के अनुकूल होना चाहिए। साथ-साथ एक अच्छा उदाहरण बनने के लिए भी हिदायत देतें हैं। यह केवल तीतुस ही नहीं परंतु उन सभी ख्रीस्त भाइ-बहनों के लिए हैं जो बड़े और धर्म की अगुआई करते हैं। हम किसी न किसी को कुछ न कुछ शिक्षा देते हैं। हमें दो चीजों को ध्यान में रखनी की जरूरत है र्स्वप्रथम हमारी सभी शिक्षा धर्म-सिद्धांत के अनुकूल हो तथा हमारा आचरण और उदाहरण अच्छा उदाहरण हों क्योंकि हम न केवल अपने शब्दों से परंतु उससे भी ज्यादा अपने जीवन से दूसरों को शिक्षा देते है।

मत्ती 6:24 में हम पढ़ते हैं, ‘‘कोई भी दो स्वामियों की सेवा नहीं कर सकता। वह या तो एक से बैर और दूसरे से प्रेम करेगा या एक का आदर और दूसरे का तिरस्कार करेगा। तुम ईश्वर और धन - दोनों की सेवा नहीं कर सकते।’’ यह हमें बताता है कि इस संसार में हम किसी एक को ही अपना स्वामि बना सकते है या तो इस संसार की चीजें को या प्रभु ईश्वर को जिसने यह सारा संसार बनाया है। अगर हम प्रभु को अपने जीवन का स्वामि मानते हैं तो हम हर चीजों में, हर बातो में उनकी ही आज्ञाओं का पालन करेंगे तथा एक सेवक के समान अपने कार्यो को पूर्ण करते हुए उनके सच्चे सेवक कहलायेंगे।

आज के सुमाचार में प्रभु येसु ख्रीस्त स्वामि और सेवक के रिश्ते के बारे में व्यक्त करते हैं; और बताते है कि हमें अपना कर्त्तव्य निस्वार्थ रूप से, बिना कुछ आस के पूर्ण करने की जरूरत है। अगर हम हमारे प्रभु का कार्य को पूरा करते है इसका मतलब हम अपना कर्त्तव्य पूरा करते हैं। अपने कार्य के बदले हम प्रभु से क्या चाह रख सकते हैं क्योंकि जितना भी अधिक हम प्रभु के लिए कार्य करेंगे वे सब उनकी कृपा, दयालुता और मुक्ति योजना के सामने नगण्य ही रह जायेगा। इसलिए हम सभी को जो प्रभु की सेवा करते है विशेष रूप से धार्मिक कार्य को सम्पन्न करते है अपने उन कार्यो पर घमण्ड़ नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि चाहे कितने भी बड़े-बड़े कार्य हम प्रभु के लिए करें हम उनके सामने मात्र एक सेवक के समान हैं जिसे अपना कार्य पूर्ण करने के बाद यहीं कहना चाहिए- ‘‘हम अयोग्य सेवक भर हैं, हमने अपना कर्त्तव्य मात्र पूरा किया है।’’ आईये हम अपने दैनिक जीवन में बिना घमण्ड और बिना कुछ आस के प्रभु की सेवा करते जायें। आमेन!

📚 REFLECTION

St. Paul in today’s first reading gives instructions to Titus by saying, ‘teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.’ St. Paul wants to say that to whomever you want to teach whether they are older men or older women or younger men it has to be consistent with sound doctrine. Along with this he instructs him also to be a good example, a model of good works. This is not only for Titus it is for all Christian brothers and sister who are elder and who are leaders in following Christ. We give one or the other some advices or teachings with regard to life. We have to keep in mind two things: Firstly our teaching should be of sound doctrine or in other words it has to be based on the word of God and secondly our deeds and life should be an exemplary one because we teach people not only by words, but more than that by our life.

In Mt 6:24 we read, “No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” This teaches us that in this world we can opt only one master for ourselves; either the things of this world or God who is the creator of everything. If we make God our life’s master then we will obey his words in everything and in every circumstances and doing the work like a slave we will be called a true servant of him.

In today’s gospel Lord Jesus expresses the relationship between the master and the servant; and tells us that we need to do our duty selfless and without any expectations. When we do the work of God we only fulfill our duty. What can we expect by obeying his words? because whatever we do for him is nothing in front of his mercy, his salvation-plan for us and his blessings which are showered upon us. That’s why for us who are serving our Lord Jesus very specially through the religious works, piety works, preaching and so on; we should not become proud of those works because whatever big-big works we do for the Lord we are not even worthy to be called slave in front of him, after fulfilling all the works we can only say, “We are worthless slave; we have done only what we ought to have done.” Let’s keep serving the Lord in our daily lives without any proud. Amen!

DEDICATION OF THE LATERAN BASILICA IN ROME Feast

First Reading: Ezekiel 47: 1-2, 8-9, 12

1 And he brought me again to the gate of the house, and behold waters issued out from under the threshold of the house toward the east: for the forefront, of the house looked toward the east: but the waters came down to the right side of the temple to the south part of the altar.

2 And he led me out by the way of the north gate, and he caused me to turn to the way without the outward gate to the way that looked toward the east: and behold there ran out waters on the right side.

8 And he said to me: These waters that issue forth toward the hillocks of sand to the east, and go down to the plains of the desert, shall go into the sea, and shall go out, and the waters shall be healed.

9 And every living creature that creepeth whithersoever the torrent shall come, shall live: and there shall be fishes in abundance after these waters shall come thither, and they shall be healed, and all things shall live to which the torrent shall come.

12 And by the torrent on the banks thereof on both sides shall grow all trees that bear fruit: their leaf shall not fall off, and their fruit shall not fail: every month shall they bring forth firstfruits, because the waters thereof shall issue out of the sanctuary: and the fruits thereof shall be for food, and the leaves thereof for medicine.

11 For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus.

16 Know you not, that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 But if any man violate the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which you are.

Gospel: John 2: 13-22

13 And the pasch of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

15 And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.

16 And to them that sold doves he said: Take these things hence, and make not the house of my Father a house of traffic.

17 And his disciples remembered, that it was written: The zeal of thy house hath eaten me up.

18 The Jews, therefore, answered, and said to him: What sign dost thou shew unto us, seeing thou dost these things?

19 Jesus answered, and said to them: Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 The Jews then said: Six and forty years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?

21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.

22 When therefore he was risen again from the dead, his disciples remembered, that he had said this, and they believed the scripture, and the word that Jesus had said.

लातरेन महामन्दिर का प्रतिष्ठान - पर्व

📒 पहला पाठ: एज़ेकिएल का ग्रन्थ 47:1-2,8-9,12

1) वह मुझे मंदिर के द्वार पर वापस ले आया। वहाँ मैंने देखा कि मन्दिर की देहली के नीचे से पूर्व की ओर जल निकल कर बह रहा है, क्योंकि मन्दिर का मुख पूर्व की ओर था। जल वेदी के दक्षिण में मन्दिर के दक्षिण पाश्र्व के नीचे से बह रहा था।

2) वह मुझे उत्तरी फाटक से बाहर-बाहर घुमा कर पूर्व के बाह्य फाटक तक ले गया। वहाँ मैंने देखा कि जल दक्षिण पाश्र्व से टपक रहा है।

8) उसने मुझ से कहा, ’’यह जल पूर्व की ओर बह कर अराबा घाटी तक पहुँचता और समुद्र में गिरता है। यह उस समुद्र के खारे पानी को मीठा बना देता है।

9) यह नदी जहाँ कहीं गुज़रती है, वहाँ पृथ्वी पर विचरने वाले प्राणियों को जीवन प्रदान करती है। वहाँ बहुत-सी मछलिया पाय जायेंगी, क्योंकि वह धारा समुद्र का पानी मीठा कर देती है। और जहाँ कहीं भी पहुचती है, जीवन प्रदान करती है।

12) नदी के दोनों तटों पर हर प्रकार के फलदार पेड़े उगेंगे- उनके पत्ते नहीं मुरझायेंगें और उन पर कभी फलों की कमी नहीं होगी। वे हर महीने नये फल उत्पन्न करेंगे; क्योंकि उनका जल मंदिर से आता है। उनके फल भोजन और उनके पत्ते दवा के काम आयेंगे।

📙 सुसमाचार : सन्त योहन 2:13-22

13) यहूदियों का पास्का पर्व निकट आने पर ईसा येरुसालेम गये।

14) उन्होंने मन्दिर में बैल, भेड़ें और कबूतर बेचने वालों को तथा अपनी मेंज़ों के सामने बैठे हुए सराफों को देखा।

15) उन्होंने रस्सियों का कोड़ा बना कर भेड़ों और बेलों-सहित सब को मन्दिर से बाहर निकाल दिया, सराफों के सिक्के छितरा दिये, उनकी मेजे़ं उलट दीं

16) और कबूतर बेचने वालों से कहा, ‘‘यह सब यहाँ से हटा ले जाओ। मेरे पिता के घर को बाजार मत बनाओ।’’

17) उनके शिष्यों को धर्मग्रन्थ का यह कथन याद आया- तेरे घर का उत्साह मुझे खा जायेगा।

18) यहूदियों ने ईसा से कहा, ‘‘आप हमें कौन-सा चमत्कार दिखा सकते हैं, जिससे हम यह जानें कि आप को ऐसा करने का अधिकार है?’’

19) ईसा ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, ‘‘इस मन्दिर को ढा दो और मैं इसे तीन दिनों के अन्दर फिर खड़ा कर दूँगा’’।

20) इस पर यहूदियों ने कहा, ‘‘इस मंदिर के निर्माण में छियालीस वर्ष लगे, और आप इसे तीन दिनों के अन्दर खड़ा कर देंगे?’’

21) ईसा तो अपने शरीर के मन्दिर के विषय में कह रहे थे।

22) जब वह मृतकों में से जी उठे, तो उनके शिष्यों को याद आया कि उन्होंने यह कहा था; इसलिए उन्होंने धर्मग्रन्ध और ईसा के इस कथन पर विश्वास किया।

📚 मनन-चिंतन

आज सम्पूर्ण कलीसिया रोम के साथ लातरेन महामदिंर का प्रतिष्ठान का पर्व मनाती है जो कि रोम के चार मुख्य मदिंरों या बसीलिकाओं में से एक और प्राचीन है। लातरेन महामदिंर रोम धर्मप्रांत का महागिरजा घर हैं न कि संत पेत्रुस मंदिर या बसीलिका जिसे अक्सर लोग समझने में गलती कर बैठते हैं। लातरेन महामंदिर को संत योहन बपतिस्ता गिरजा से जाना जाता हैं। यह पश्चिम क्षेत्र का सबसे प्राचीन गिरजाघर है जो कि सम्राट कोन्सटेन्टाईन के समय बनाया गया था। लातरेन महामंदिर को सम्पूर्ण दुनिया के सभी शहर के सम्स्त गिरजाघरों की मॉं तथा शीर्ष के रूप में माना जाता हैं।

आज के इस पर्व के अवसर पर काथलिक कलीसिया हमारे समाने उन पाठों को रखती है जो प्रभु के मन्दिर से सन्दर्भ रखते हैं। पहला पाठ जो कि एजे़किएल के ग्रंथ से लिया गया है जहॉं पर नबी एज़ेकिएल अपने उस दर्शन के बारे में बताते है जहॉं पर प्रभु के मंदिर से जल निकल कर नदी की तरह बह रहा और यह जल जहॉं कहीं भी जाती है वहॉं जीवन प्रदान करते जाती है। प्रभु का मंदिर आशीषों का श्रोत है जहॉं से प्रभु की आशीष निकल कर चारों ओर फैलती है और यह जहॉं कहीं भी जाती है उसमें जीवन भर देती हैं।

आज के सुसमाचार में येसु येरूसालेम मंदिर में चल रहें कारोबार को छितर-बितर कर देते हैं तथा पिता के घर को बाजार ना बनाने की हिदायत देते है। प्रभु नबी इसायह के ग्रंथ के वचनों को याद करते है जो 56ः7 में लिखा है, ‘‘मेरा घर सब राष्ट्रों का प्रार्थनागृह कहलायेगा।’’ प्रभु का मंदिर प्रार्थना के लिए निर्मित एक भवन है, जिसे हम सभी को उसकी पवित्रता, गरीमा और उसकी मह्हता को बनाये रखना चाहिए। क्योकि मंदिर एक प्रार्थना का जगह है जहॉं प्रभु अपने बच्चों से वार्तालाप करते है। आगे चल कर प्रभु येसु अपने शरीर के मंदिर के विषय में बताते है। यह हम सभी को यह संदेश देता है कि जिस प्रकार प्रभु येसु का शरीर एक मंदिर था, ठीक उसी प्रकार हम सब का शरीर भी एक मंदिर है जिसमें पवित्र आत्मा निवास करता है, जिसे संत पौलुस 1 कुरि. 3ः16 में भी बताते है।

आज का पर्व हमें अपने शरीर रूपी मंदिर के साथ-साथ अपना गिरजाघर को भी पवित्र बनाये रखने का आह्वान करता है। जिससे प्रभु का निवास हममें तथा गिरजाघरों में पवित्र यूख्रीस्त और बाईबिल के वचन के अनुरूप बना रहें। आज का पर्व सभी गिरजाघरों के लिए आशीष का श्रोत बनें। आमेन!

📚 REFLECTION

Today the whole Church along with Rome celebrates the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica which is one and the oldest among the four major basilicas in Rome. Lateran Basilica is the Cathedral of the diocese of Rome, not St. Peter Basilica of which many make mistake. Lateran Basilica is known as the Church of St. John the Baptist. It is the oldest church in the west, built in the time of Emperor Constantine. This Basilica is called “mother and head of all the churches of the city of the world.

On the occasion of this feast, the Catholic Church gives us those readings which are related to the Temple. The first reading which is taken from the book of Ezekiel where prophet Ezekiel tells about his vision of the temple; how the water is flowing as river from the temple and where ever it is going it is giving life. Temple of God is the source of blessings from where the graces spread everywhere and where ever the graces and blessings reach it fills everything with life.

In today’s Gospel we read Jesus scattered the business which was going on in the Jerusalem Temple and asserts them: not to make Father’s house a market place. Lord Jesus remembers the words of Prophet Isaiah which is written in 56:7, “For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” Temple of God is a place which is built for the purpose of prayer and we have to keep the holiness, dignity and importance of it; because temple is a place of prayer where Lord talks with his children. Later Jesus talks about the temple of his body. This tells us that as the body of Jesus was God’s temple similarly our body is also the temple of the Holy Spirit which St. Paul also tells in 1Cor 3:16.

Today’s feast invites us to keep holy our churches along with the body as temple, so that God may reside in us as well as in the churches in the holy Eucharist and in word of God. May today’s feast become the source of blessings for all the churches. Amen!
